Overview

The Microsoft Cloud for ISVs team builds tools, platforms & services that enable our ISV partners to transform, innovate and delight their customers by creating and operating differentiated solutions which harness the power and breadth of the Microsoft Cloud. #MCI

Responsibilities

This Software Engineer role includes the following core responsibilities:

Technical Responsibilities

  • Development of new Microsoft products to enable and accelerate the onboarding of ISV solutions to the Microsoft Cloud.
  • Identifying best practices and coding patterns and providing deep expertise on the coding and validation strategy.
  • Defining and/or re-using quality metrics, best practices, and coding patterns to ensure testable code.
  • Collaboration with other Microsoft engineering teams to develop features and products that enable unique and differentiated experiences for our ISV partners.
  • Translating learnings from customers and partners to scenario-led engineering feedback to further enhance functional and non-functional aspects of the Microsoft Cloud.
  • Developing repeatable patterns, including creation and publishing of content and code across multiple internal and external platforms.

Working directly with customers, partners, and other Microsoft engineering teams, this role presents a robust opportunity to have a tangible impact on our cloud products and strategy, as well as fuel our partners’ and customers’ success. Intentional collaboration is a must in this role.

Due to the technical breadth of this role, we do not have specific required technical qualifications. As this is a hands-on coding role it is important that you enjoy, and are capable of, learning new depth software development skills based on demand! Some examples of relevant skills that we value include:

  • Development experience in one or more of the following: .Net, Java, Go, JavaScript or Python
  • Scripting such as Bash or PowerShell
  • Azure, AWS or GCP experience
  • Implementation of, or integration with, Large Language Models
  • Kubernetes
  • Linux administration
  • Database design or administration
  • Data analysis or engineering
  • Infrastructure automation such as Bicep, ARM or Terraform
  • Experience with Microsoft Dynamics, Teams & Power Platform

Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to, the following specialized security screenings:

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
