This position is responsible for leading the EMEA Compensation consulting team. Working as part of Total Rewards, to deliver an exceptional portfolio of programs and services across our international locations which reinforces our culture and values by balancing global consistency with local need and ensuring privacy, equity, security confidentiality and regulatory adherence.

Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Design & Adaptation - You develop and advocate the long-term vision and strategy for the design and adaptation of compensation programs; you drive the evaluation of current compensation programs and ensure their alignment with business needs.

  • Program Implementation - You are a company-wide expert and thought leader, defining the strategy and philosophy for establishing compensation programs aligned with market competitiveness and global business strategies.

  • Program Management - You evaluate the effectiveness and business impact of compensation programs and processes; you partner with HRBPs to present compensation solutions to executive leadership.

  • Compensation Education & Consultation - You are responsible for developing the education materials on compensation programs, policies, practices, and customized compensation solutions; you deliver training on specific compensation programs/processes to high-level audiences across the organization.

  • People Management – You lead a team of Compenasation Consultants for the EMEA region. You help employees identify growth opportunities, develop skills and build development plans. You drive the execution of projects. You establish and communicate performance expectations, identify and address gaps and monitor performance to ensure plans are met.

Qualifications

  • Performance Management - Knowledge of Microsoft's performance management procedures. This includes the understanding of how to set and communicate performance expectations and goals, monitor performance, conduct performance evaluations, provide ongoing performance feedback, create developmental plans, and correct performance problems.

  • Business Acumen - The ability to understand the parts of the business and their interrelationships. This includes skill in understanding the industry, competition, and expected future developments and challenges, the business's competitive strengths and weaknesses, opportunities to grow the business and reduce operating costs; and awareness of the environment for opportunities.

  • Consulting - The skill to influence others, develop and maintain working relationships, and deliver results and/or expertise for a client in a professional manner.

  • Market Research - The ability to gather intelligence regarding specific products, attitudes, compensation, services, etc. and interpret it for the purposes of business decisions.

  • Data Analysis - The ability to systematically gather information from a variety of sources, analyze information, identify implications of data, draw conclusions, generate alternatives and solutions, and evaluate the consequences of choosing each alternative using quality metrics and data. This includes the ability to convert general data and findings into applied, specific information and suggestions that add value to business planning and strategies.

  • Compensation - Knowledge of principles and application of compensation methods, programs, policies, and practices. This includes knowledge of regulatory laws affecting compensation plans for multi-country markets and operations.

  • Compensation Trends - The ability to stay abreast of compensation trends in the marketplace including competitor practices as well as the ability to analyze compensation and job data that exhibits an ongoing pattern. This includes the ability to forecast future compensation issues and demands.

  • Sales Compensation - Knowledge of sales compensation principles and the ability to apply them to compensation program design and delivery.

  • Legislation Awareness - Knowledge of current legislation as it relates to the company and the ability to maintain an ongoing analysis of the impact of such developments on internal practices and products.

  • Change Management - The ability to define and implement procedures and/or technologies to deal with changes in the environment. This may include adapting to change, controlling change, and/or affecting change.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

  • Significant directly related compensation and general Human Resources experience or other closely related work experience, or
    Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field with significant relevant experience.
      • Or equivalent experience
  • Demonstrable people management and leadership experience, including leading teams and influencing executive stakeholders at scale.
  • Demonstrable regional experience, including EU labour relations expertise and deep knowledge of EMEA markets.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Significant experience in compensation, general HR, or related business work experience AND Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business or related field
  • Compensation project management experience
  • Compensation program design experience
  • Demonstrable experience working in the specific position's relevant regional labour, compensation, and statutory context
  • Demonstrable people management experience
