Within CO+I, Data Center Delivery (DCD) is responsible for the delivery of Hyper Scale Data Centers for the Microsoft’s cloud business. Within DCD, the Datacenter Construction Build Management (DCBM) team are responsible for DC IT Fit out and Lease Construction delivery. The Data Cantre Integration (DCI) team manages the IT Fit-Out of Data Centers and the Lease Construction Management (LCM) team is responsible for safely overseeing delivering Lease datacenter capacity from contract execution to the agreed Ready for Network Install (RNI) date.

As EMEA Lease Construction rapidly expands in existing countries and into new geographies, with existing and new Lease Providers we, DCI, are seeking an Assistant Portfolio Manager (APM). We are looking for a passionate, high energy individual to help build the network that powers the world’s largest online services.

The Assistant Portfolio Manager (APM) will play a crucial role supporting the Datacenter Integration (DCI) Regional Director with the coordination, tracking and management of projects across Europe, Middle East and Africa, covering the Lease, Edge and build programs. DCI is part of Datacentre Delivery (DCD) and is the team responsible for the fit-out of our Build, Lease and Edge Datacentres.

The role requires strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills, ability to self-direct, good background in Data Center engineering, controls, operational requirements and an emphasis on project/construction management, Data Center lease market experience, client representation and project and Project level services.

The key competencies and responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to the following:

· Support the establishment of project and programme governance, processes and systems to be utilised throughout the portfolio.

· Propose and support the implementation of programme performance and continuous improvement solutions across the portfolio.

· Tracking and reporting of KPI’s and business OKRs to inform strategic programme improvement.

· Support the delivery of change and transformation projects that will support delivery teams to deliver improved impact.

· Support the implementation of schedule, risk, change, cost & quality management process across the portfolio.

· Advising and planning for the ongoing management of quality, safety, health and environment issues.

· Ensure adequate tools are in place to track and monitor the progress of projects within the portfolio.

· Data analysis of project data to inform the development and improvement of tools, processes and procedures.

· Develop monthly and bi-weekly reports including lookaheads to highlight critical upcoming milestones and associated risks to the team.

· Support effective portfolio risk management including the tracking, managing and escalation of top risks.

· Work closely with partner teams to ensure effective support to ITIMs in relation to procurement, costs and Business Operations.

· Monitor the end-to-end delivery of projects to ensure projects are executed according to the quality management process.

· Support the team with operations management covering core activities such as external staff onboarding, budget planning, resource planning etc.

Qualifications

Qualifications:

Qualified candidates should have the following skills/experience:

· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, electrical engineering, construction management or similar field experience.

· 5 + years’ experience in infrastructure and/or construction related project management.

· Client and/or Contractor side onsite Datacentre construction or project management experience.

· Self-starter with demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, projects, and deadlines simultaneously. · Experience managing large scale enterprise projects with both localized and virtual teams.

· Cross-group collaborator and influencer across teams and organizations with proven success in participating in cross-functional teams to deliver on key projects. Must be able to work within a dynamic team of full-time employees and consultants.
