Overview

As Regional Mobilization and Network Program Director, you will focus on mobilizing new region data center capacity and managing the Data Center Operations Network Program

Providing leadership, direction in establishing program roadmaps, staffing efficiencies, process improvements, and governance for DC Operations strategy that will support our current and future growth. In this role you will work collaboratively with all CO+I stakeholders to support network and server capacity for the organization, driving excellence in service through industry best practices.

Microsoft’s Cloud Operations & Innovation (CO+I) is the engine that powers our cloud services. As an Operations Manager for our Regional Mobilization Team, you and your team will perform a key role in delivering the core infrastructure and foundational technologies for Microsoft's online services including Bing, Office 365, Xbox, OneDrive, and the Microsoft Azure platform. Responsibilities

  • Support a strategic vision and implementation plan for regional datacenter operations that will position the organization for future capacity and growth.
  • Provide leadership and direction in establishing network roadmaps, staffing efficiencies, process improvements, and governance methodology to support regional networking growth from conception to completion.
  • Manage the portfolio of network projects regionally for the CO+I data center operations organization.
  • Lead the IT & IAM teams responsible for delivering data center capacity supporting the EMEA Region
  • Lead the team delivering network
  • Lead teams delivering data center fitout and retrofits
  • Collaborate with partners to resource plan for new site mobilization and network programs.
  • Collaborate with various Engineering, Construction, end to end teams, regional integration teams, Operations, and other stakeholder during mobilization efforts and project planning and execution.
  • Plan, forecast and manage program budget and make decisions to adhere to sound fiscal practices.
  • Identify risks, gaps, and opportunities and communicate to stakeholders and other teams to drive resolution.
  • Create lessons learned documentation, best practices, and innovations on existing process/procedures and tools to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Establish data analytics to evaluate the process change efficiency and effectiveness.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent AND Significant years’ experience delivering server and network deployment projects in large-scale environments OR Significant years' experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
  • Significant years’ experience in leading a diverse, technical team.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Significant years’ experience in data center-related functions for large enterprise organizations with experience in a production, mission-critical, 24x7 operations environment.
  • Significant years’ experience in leading a diverse, technical team.
  • Technical degree in Computer Science, Math, Telecommunications, Electrical/Mechanical Engineering, or related field.
  • Experience with Project and Program management in large complex, cross-functional organizations.
  • Experience working with network technologies including TCP/IP, LAN/WAN, Routing, and Switching.
  • Experience in structured process improvement and efficiency gains (e.g., Six Sigma, Kaizen, etc.).

  • Microsoft Cloud Background Check: This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
