Overview
Microsoft Advertising (MSA) empowers advertisers around the world to reach their maximum potential through our omni-channel, multi-format, global platforms. We are seeking an experienced commercial incentives leader to join the Deal Desk within Microsoft Advertising. This small and strategic team is essential to enabling revenue growth across our portfolio of offerings, partnering between the business and sales to structure innovative, financially sound, and mutually beneficial partnership agreements with agencies and advertisers. This role requires a strategic thinker and strong collaborator, with impeccable communication, planning and execution skills.
Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities include:
Deal Structuring:
- This role will focus on developing agreements across Holding Company and large agencies globally, partnering closely with our Global Agency Development Sales Leaders, accompanying them on client engagements as needed
- Develop and deliver agency incentive offers that balance needs of the business and client, maximizing revenue growth and minimizing risk, considering each unique market’s needs and regulations
- Act as expert on client deal strategy, constructs, operations, and resolution of deal issues and sales escalations. Design advertising commercial incentive strategy and policies globally
- Evolving the existing incentive offers based on market needs; continually ideating on innovative and competitive contract and offer types to further enable growth across all lines of business
Sales Enablement:
- Partner in a trusted advisor capacity to senior Sales Leadership, account teams and other internal partners to develop strategies that both optimize revenue and protect margins
- Collaborate to identify market opportunities and trends
- Stay close to sales to understand challenges and demand gaps in order to create and GTM offers to sales to address key business challenges
Stakeholder Alignment:
- Collaborate with Finance, Legal and Sales Operations to optimize contract terms and close deals, putting compliance and profitability first
- Partner with our Global Agency Development team in sales to identify opportunities and strategies to enter into strategic partnerships with key agencies
- Partner with business teams on optimal pricing models and strategies for new products and bundled solutions
Qualifications
Skills & Competencies:
- Solid experience in strategy, finance, operations, or direct Deal Desk/GTM roles
- Superior analytical background with strong problem-solving skills
- Extensive experience in media buying, trading, or a similar role within the advertising industry; agency experience preferred
- Strong program and process manager with demonstrated experience in developing end-to-end process to support complex business problems
- Ability to function effectively in a highly-matrixed work environment with strong cross-functional team collaboration skills
Additional:
- BA/BS from an accredited college/university or solid relevant professional experience
- Digital Advertising experience strongly preferred.
- Sales and/or client facing experience preferred
- Some travel may be required
