Senior Accountant

Location: Basingstoke

Hours: 40 hours per week

Contract: Permanent - Salaried

The Role is responsible for managing a team of accountants, helping ensure the delivery of timely & accurate processing of financial controls, accounting & reporting activities in accordance with the company policy, performance, and quality standards. Working within the FHub R2R team, the Role supports the Head of Capital Accounting and Head of R2R along with other FHub leaders to meet the company’s key business objectives and facilitate collaboration with the wider finance community. The successful candidate will have a strong presence within the team, driving best practice and process efficiencies, along with a continuous improvement and delivery focussed mindset.

Key Objectives:

• 🤝🏼 Stakeholder Relationships: Build and nurture strong relationships with key business stakeholders to ensure departmental objectives are met and stakeholders are well-informed about their balance sheet positions.

• 📈 Financial Controls: Maintain robust financial controls and systems, identifying opportunities for operational efficiencies and recommending improvements to practices and procedures.

• 👨🏾‍🤝‍👨🏾 Team Collaboration: Work as a key team player to ensure all department tasks are completed within scheduled timelines, with checklists and standard operating procedures (SOPs) updated accordingly.

• 🎯 Efficiency and Accuracy: Ensure department activities are performed accurately and efficiently, constantly seeking ways to enhance service delivery to the business.

• ➡ Continuous Improvement: Strive for continuous improvement, driving innovation and best practices within the team and broader Finance Hub community.

• 👊🏼 People Management: Manage and develop direct reports, fostering a culture of growth and excellence.

Qualifications & Experience

• Considerable experience of operating within in a shared services role, preferably within a similar operating model & size of organisation.
• Fully-qualified ACA, ACCA or CIMA.
• Extensive experience of multi-currency component asset accounting, particularly relating to global construction projects is desirable.
• Awareness as to the impact of global taxation on Fixed Assets would be preferred.
• Experience with complex fixed asset systems landscape and data structures.
• Experience & proven capabilities in process improvement techniques.
• Evidence of building and maintaining strong relationships with key business stakeholders.
• Ability to professionally challenge senior stakeholders with vision and confidence in relation to process and policies.
• Methodical and diligent, with strong attention to detail essential.
• Strong communication skills across multiple levels and disciplines.
• Strong team management and leadership, able to drive partnerships with networks and relationships across the business.
