Fancy taking a leading role in the ULTIMATE fame experience? Truly immerse yourself in fame and taste the life of the rich and famous, through a combination of our historic artistic methods (that date back centuries, by the way!) of figure portraiture, immersive sets and pioneering modern tech.
We are Madame Tussauds London, and our talent agents are scouting for a Multiskilled Studio Technician Specialist to join our phenomenal cast. No two days are the same here and we are looking for someone with an industry background, whether just starting out or with an already established career in Costume, Theming, Art Finishing to achieve excellent overall figure and set presentation. Bringing an exceptional eye for detail to guarantee that our displays are always world class. As many of our practical techniques are unique to the Madame Tussauds brand, in-house training and development will be given.
The role will also involve delivering in-house projects to brief. From time to time the shifts may flex as you’ll be supporting and could be the Studios face of exciting Marketing and PR activity. This is a permanent position offering a minimum of 15 hours per week, working any 2 days out of 7, typically including one weekday and one weekend day. Additional hours may be available depending on project demands and business needs.

As our attractions operate daily, flexibility is essential. This includes availability to work weekends and bank holidays, as well as the ability to support peak periods and assist with preparation for out-of-hours events.
Qualifications & Experience
Alongside an excellent eye for detail, and a holistic perspective to showcase our World-Famous attraction to Brand and Talent premium standards each and every day, we are looking for talented people who:
- Will learn and absorb the detail of each Studio discipline - your role will predominantly be multi-skilled to assist the team in each department, dependant on the fluid workload schedule
- Ideally have a background in Wardrobe/Costume work with a theoretical and practical understanding, or a willingness to grow your initial skills from period to fashion styling and fabrication. Experience in hand/machine sewing and altering skills would be an advantage. However, other Artistic backgrounds such as Fine Art / Model Making will most certainly be considered, depending on former experience.
- Can demonstrate an active interest of up-to-date techniques and products with the ability to research the best approach to deliver set quality standards.
- Can read, copy and/or interpret figure briefs to be relevant to the approved look and brand guidelines.
- Can prioritise tasks, manage their time effectively, respond quickly to changes and find creative solutions in a fast-paced environment.
- Work effectively both autonomously, and as part of a team. Have a collaborative, supportive approach with immediate team and stakeholders, following and responding to feedback and critique notes in a timely manner.
- Understand project budget management and ability to work to costs proposed.
- Demonstrate excellent communication skills both verbally and written.
As this is a practical, hands-on role you'll also need to be capable of moving figures weighing up to 30kg.
