We are recruiting for Health and Safety Manager to join our Team!
The Health and Safety Manager will support the Health and Safety Director in promoting a positive and proactive safety culture across the Resort, helping to ensure that safety remains simple, relevant and embedded into everyday working practices. A key part of your responsibilities will involve establishing, maintaining and continuously improving the Resort’s safety management system so that it aligns with both wider Merlin strategy and is compliant with legislative policies, standards and wider safety initiatives.
You will play a critical role in developing and maintaining the Resort’s safety assurance programme. This includes supporting internal audit activity, responding to actions raised by third‑party audits and working closely with managers to ensure safety plans are implemented effectively. You will also investigate safety incidents, near misses and accidents, preparing thorough reports that identify both immediate and root causes, as well as carrying out statutory reporting when required.
A significant part of the position involves monitoring safety performance trends, identifying potential risks and implementing best practice improvements to mitigate future risk. You will oversee the personal accident claims management process and help promote a fair, transparent and positive safety culture across the Resort.
As the manager of the onsite Health and Safety Team, you will lead on recruitment, training, personal development and performance management, ensuring the team is engaged, capable and supported. You will also manage the Safety On‑Call rota to ensure that safety advice is available at all times, including out‑of‑hours response when needed. In addition, you will support the Health and Safety Director in identifying and costing CAPEX priorities for safety‑related improvements and act as a subject matter expert for managers, employees and third parties across the Resort.
