What you'll bring to the team
Delivery Manager
Location: London/Hybrid
Hours: 40 hours per week
Contract: FTC
Merlin is undergoing a business transformation focused on sustainable growth, enabled by step-change technology. As a Delivery Manager (People Technology), you will lead delivery of the global People Technology roadmap, managing end-to-end HRIS implementations and digital employee experience initiatives. You will connect HR strategy to technical delivery, ensuring HCM modules, payroll integrations and data migration are delivered securely, accurately and with minimal business disruption.
You will take projects from discovery through go-live and operational handover, delivering to plan and bringing clarity to complex problems.
Responsibilities
HR Tech Project Lifecycle & Governance
- End-to-End Implementation: Drive the full project lifecycle for HR technology deployments (e.g., Core HCM, Recruitment, Talent Management, or Payroll systems) from requirements gathering to Go-Live and hyper-care.
- Data Migration & Integrity: Oversee complex data workstreams, ensuring high standards of data cleansing, mapping, and validation during system transitions.
- Critical Path Management: Manage interdependencies between HR tech modules and downstream systems (Finance/ERP, Active Directory, and Identity Management).
- Compliance & Security: Ensure all project deliveries adhere to global data privacy regulations (GDPR/PII) and internal security protocols for sensitive employee data.
- Stakeholder & Vendor Management
- HR Leadership Liaison: Partner with the Chief People Officer (CPO) and HR Centers of Excellence (CoEs) to translate business requirements into technical project deliverables.
- Vendor Management (SaaS/SI): Manage relationships with SaaS providers and System Integrators (SIs), ensuring project milestones are met and holding partners accountable to contractual SOWs.
- Change Management Alignment: Work closely with HR Change & Communication teams to ensure technical delivery aligns with user adoption and training schedules.
- Operational Excellence & Frameworks
- PMO Standards for HR: Define and implement project governance, RAID logs, and status reporting tailored for HR transformation programmes in line with the Transformation Management Office guidelines and delivery framework
- Integration Frameworks: Oversee the delivery of robust API and middleware integrations between HR platforms and third-party benefit providers.
- Metrics & ROI: Establish KPIs to measure project success, such as system adoption rates, process automation efficiency, and "Time-to-Hire" technical performance.
- Leadership & Team Development
- Technical Coaching: Mentor junior Delivery Managers on the nuances of HR tech, such as tenant management, configuration vs. customisation, and UAT (User Acceptance Testing) cycles.
Qualifications & Experience
- 7+ Years of Project Delivery: You have a proven track record of managing high-stakes projects from inception to completion. You’ve seen it all, and your experience allows you to stay calm and methodical when timelines get tight.
- HR Tech Specialism: Deep experience in HR Technology project delivery is essential. You understand the specific sensitivities of HR data, the nuances of payroll/HCM integrations, and the critical importance of user adoption in a people-centric function.
- Global Implementation Pedigree: You have successfully led the rollout of global technology systems across multiple regions, managing the complexities of different time zones, localised requirements, and international compliance.
- Certified Expertise: You hold industry-standard qualifications such as PRINCE2 or APM, ensuring your "get-it-done" attitude is backed by a rigorous, standardised methodology.
- HR Tech Specialist: Proven experience delivering large-scale HCM or HRIS transformations (e.g., Workday, SuccessFactors, Oracle, or Dayforce).
- Security Conscious: Deeply familiar with the sensitivities of managing employee lifecycle data and the technical requirements of secure payroll file transfers.
- Technical Fluency: You are an expert in Smartsheet (desirable), Excel (for data tracking and budgeting), and PowerPoint (for translating complex project data into executive-level stories).
