The Future Combat Air System (FCAS) is one of the largest, most exciting and challenging programmes within Defence – to design and deliver a Future Combat Air Programme for the RAF in record time. The key cornerstone of FCAS is the Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP), which sees the UK working with our international partners in Italy and Japan, to deliver a future combat air platform. FCAS and GCAP presents a unique opportunity to influence the design of the system to consider the integration and employment of effects rather than just integrate effectors to an existing platform.

The FCAS portfolio consists of a number of different projects and contracts looking at different areas within Combat Air. MBDA UK is involved in a number of these projects including the TEMPEST project, where some novel technologies are being explored, the main UK FCAS Acquisition Programme, as well as the Global Combat Air Programme (GCAP).

As part of the role there will also be times where you would be expected to represent the Head of Programme Enablers, where required, across the Enablers space on security aspects including representing the programme with senior stakeholders at key working groups. We are looking for someone who can hit the ground running and quickly build relationships both internally and externally. A perfect role for someone who is keen to apply their security skills and broaden their experiences in an exciting role within MBDA. This is a great opportunity to join a fantastic team and really make this role your own!

What you will be doing:

• Management and communication of Security Grading Guidance (SGG) changes into the wider FCAS and GCAP Programme
• Define an internal Programme Security Strategy for the FCAS Programme
• Facilitating regular internal security meetings
• Updating of Programme Security Management Plans
• Communicate Security Policy changes to Senior Management and HR as and when needed
• Management of Security related Projects (Analysis and Implementation)

• Leading on secure infrastructure upgrades across Bolton, Bristol and Stevenage
• Representing security interests and requirements within the collaborative working environment
• Accountable for development and delivery of the MBDA FCAS security aspects of Future Manufacturing and Future Supply Chain
• Support the Digital & data strategy and Enterprise Architecture for international and national collaboration

What we’re looking for from you:

• Demonstrable stakeholder management experience
• Specialist knowledge in Cyber Security
• Awareness of Data Security, Physical Security, Digital Security
• Understanding of security defence standards, both nationally and internationally
• Awareness of Third party risk management, data security and privacy
• Capable of managing multiple projects/work packages with Information Security
• Ability to influence and guide a narrative around Operational Security
• Able to understand Network Security
• Organisational/co-ordination experience; ability to work with and through others
• Product management experience is not essential but could be helpful
• System Engineering understanding
