Job Description

MBDA is seeking a Finance Business Partner (Project Accountant) to join our team in Stevenage. You will have the opportunity to apply financial control to specific contracts within programmes finance, taking responsibility for all financial aspects.

Salary: up to circa £55,000 depending on experience

Dynamic (hybrid) working: 2-3 days per week on-site, due to workload classification

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship.

Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity:

As an integral part of the team, you will provide Finance and Project Management with effective, timely, and accurate financial information while acting as a key business partner to the wider project team.

You will have the chance to collaborate with individuals from various multi-national projects and Finance teams.

  • Assist in achieving and managing performance indicators for assigned contracts. Provide regular updates on progress and projected outcomes, highlighting potential risks and opportunities.

  • Support and manage the preparation of multi-year business plans and annual budgets for your contracts.

  • Ensure that relevant project staff are clear of their financial objectives.

  • Financial management of long-term contracts, including bi-annual Estimate at Completion preparation, revenue and margin trading, intercompany trading, cash and FX management, customer reporting/interfacing.

What we're looking for from you:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)

  • Proven experience of building strong and productive working relationships within multi-discipline and multinational teams

  • Experience in long-term contract financial management

  • Knowledge and experience of Finance IT tools:

    • MS Excel (required)

    • SAP R/3, SAP BW (desirable)
