As Global Capex Category Lead – Processing Equipment Procurement, you will be accountable for defining and deploying the global category strategy for processing equipment (Dry Petcare) and related services across Mars operations.

Acting as the global procurement owner for the category with an annual spend of $300M, you will partner closely with global engineering, manufacturing and innovation teams to drive supplier performance, cost competitiveness, technology roadmap alignment, and value creation at scale.

This is a highly strategic, cross-functional role with true global scope and decision-making responsibility.

You will be a key member of the Global Capital Procurement team, working alongside 8–10 global CAPEX category leads and regional sourcing leaders. The team operates in a highly collaborative, matrix environment, sharing best practices, market intelligence, and innovation initiatives across regions.


What are we looking for?

  • 10+ years of experience in global or regional procurement, category management, or CAPEX sourcing

  • Strong experience with industrial equipment, CAPEX, engineering, or technical procurement (Petcare/FMCG a strong plus)

  • Proven track record in large-scale global negotiations and contract management

  • Ability to operate effectively in a global, matrix, cross-functional environment

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Procurement, Engineering, Business, or related field

  • Fluent in English and French


What will be your key responsibilities?

Business Partnering & Stakeholder Management

  • Partner with global engineering, industrial, and regional procurement teams to define and execute global CAPEX sourcing strategies in line with Mars’ frameworks.

  • Contribute actively to the Global Category community and maintain strong alignment with regional sourcing teams and relevant stakeholders

Category Strategy & Market Intelligence

  • Define and continuously evolve global category strategies for processing equipment and related services.

  • Provide market, cost, and financial insights, leveraging deep category expertise.

  • Drive standardization initiatives, supplier consolidation, and technology roadmaps in close collaboration with global engineering leads.

Negotiation, Contracting & Commercial Governance

  • Lead the development, negotiation, and implementation of global contracts, including SLAs, pricing structures, volume commitments, capacity, and service levels.

  • Drive global pricing governance and value realization.

Sourcing Excellence & Compliance

  • Ensure full compliance with Responsible Sourcing, internal governance, and FMCG procurement standards.

  • Maintain zero exposure to non-compliant suppliers.

Supplier Relationship Management & Innovation

  • Own strategic supplier relationships at global level, incl. fostering supplier-enabled innovation, early supplier involvement, and value engineering initiatives.

  • Drive supplier performance management, continuous improvement, quality, and cost optimization.
