The SRM Pricing Lead (this role) reports to the SRM Director serving as a key business partner and the pricing expert for the local unit. This position helps drive consumer penetration and category profit pool growth, mainly by leading the strategic development & execution of optimized pack-price architectures and product mix plans across brands and channels. As leader of the local Pricing practice, the SRM Pricing Manager ensures improved SRM pricing capabilities and market delivery of strategic pricing objectives for profitable value and volume growth.
The Primary objectives for the SRM Pricing lead are:
· Lead development of portfolio pricing strategy and price-value actions for profitable value and volume growth. This includes collaboration across all functions to deliver a holistic Price Value chain approach, ensuring category, consumer, customer, company (CBU) and competitive impacts are well-understood and integrated within pack-price recommendations and execution plans.
· Chair/co-chair the local cross-functional Pricing Council. This includes ensuring regular monitoring and assessment of portfolio pricing performance versus the category, development of strategic pricing recommendations and project management of price-value actions & execution (through Annual Plan and S&OP+ process cycles).
· Drive development of portfolio Net Price Realization and Product Sizing plans at the channel/key customer level. This includes partnering closely with Sales, CBU Marketing, Finance and Regional Pricing councils (as necessary) to set annual targets, establish pricing corridors & promotion price guidelines, manage net price performance, and minimize cross border/parallel trade.
Key Accountabilities or Responsibilities
· Leads the creation of market portfolio pricing strategy, development of annual pricing plans/recommended actions and overall management of the local market pricing practice. This includes leveraging MWC Pricing Playbooks & partnering with:
o CBU Marketing, CMI and Sales for optimized brand pack-price architecture across key price tiers, thresholds and partitions to ensure pricing attractiveness and competitiveness against consumer penetration, transaction and trade-up goals.
o Sales, Customer Marketing, Category Management & Key Account teams to unlock price point opportunities by channel for category and profit pool growth with customers.
o Commercial & Finance to deliver target Prime Margin/MAC shape for the CBU’s.
o CBU Marketing and R&D to capture Innovation price-value opportunities and enhance alignment to brand/CBU strategy and overall pack-price architecture goals
o Finance and S&OP+ team to ensure price recommendations and action inputs are included in Annual Operating Plan and period S&OP+ cycles.
· Chair/co-chair the Local market Pricing Council, including integration and co-ordination of fact-based recommendations with S&OP+ Step decision owners (as appropriate) for consult at PMR/DMR/ MBR for final sign off by General Manager. Ensuring agreed actions are followed through.
· Lead the execution, planning and management of agreed Pricing Strategy for the Brand/Portfolio by:
o Partnering with Marketing & Customer Marketing to develop everyday pricing & product mix guidelines by CBU for KA teams
o Co-ordinating the deployment of any cost price increase (CPI’s), providing project management support to ensure agreed actions are executed on time and on budget. Including reporting and managing any requested brand and customer exceptions by S&OP+.
· Collaborate with Regional S&F pricing analyst to ensure local market pricing inputs are included in Regional net pricing strategies and setting of pricing corridors on key SKUs.
· Manage the day to day activities of pricing analysis (where relevant) ensuring all the pricing objectives of the business are met: Analyze External and Internal Pricing Landscape on a periodic basis including :
o Monitoring Retail Pricing Landscape and Pricing status across CBUs on period basis (e.g., Price Points, Price Tiers, Curves)
o Conducting detailed pricing analysis across channels / pack types to highlight opportunities
o Tracking competitors and multi-category pricing and pack architecture moves

From a structural perspective, MW has formalized the SRM function within each market, staffing with dedicated local resources and supporting with a lean MW Global SRM team. The MEA SRM team reports to the MEA SRM Director.
This pricing role develops and integrates local SRM capabilities, providing critical support for ‘One Demand’ portfolio strategy development and improved execution at the market level. This includes championing local SRM engagement and best practices as a centre of excellence for Pricing. This includes collaborating across the organization to optimize pack-price architecture.
All SRM roles require strong commercial, leadership and influencing capability with the ability to build effective working relationships/teams and inspire and motivate stakeholders both internally and externally.
