Job Description

Job Description:

Location: Oud-Beijerland, The Netherlands
Segment: Food & Nutrition
Work Type: Full-time

At Mars, we believe the world we want tomorrow starts with how we do business today. That’s why every day, our people — our Associates — are working to make a difference. If you’re ready to lead with purpose, inspire teams, and help shape the future of food manufacturing, this is your opportunity to join us as Site Technical Manager at our Oud-Beijerland site.

Your role – Leading with purpose

As Site Technical Manager (STM), you’ll be at the heart of our Oud-Beijerland factory — a key site within Mars’ global Food & Nutrition network. You’ll lead our Technical Department (Engineering, Reliability & Maintenance), ensuring our people and our assets perform at their best to support growth and deliver high-quality products to customers around the world.

You’ll play a vital role in setting the vision for the site’s technical strategy and bringing it to life — driving excellence, reliability, and innovation through empowered leadership. You’ll also lead the development and execution of our Site Masterplan, shaping the future of our site with sustainability, safety, and digital transformation at its core.

What are your key responsibilities?

  • Lead and inspire a multidisciplinary Technical team — building capability, engagement, and pride in performance.
  • Define and deliver the long-term Technical vision and strategy for the site, using Mars Supply Excellence (MSE) and TPM as your guiding frameworks.
  • Drive asset reliability and ensure world-class maintenance performance — maximizing uptime, safety, and cost efficiency.
  • Own the Site Masterplan — including sustainability, automation, and innovation roadmaps — to secure the site’s future growth.
  • Execute capital projects (>$1M) on time, within scope, and budget — ensuring compliance with all Mars safety, quality, and food standards.
  • Collaborate globally — connecting with regional and global teams and fellow STMs to share best practices and drive our collective success.
  • Act as a key member of the Site Leadership Team, supporting the Plant Manager and stepping in as needed for site leadership and decision-making.
  • Champion safety and wellbeing — fostering a culture where every Associate goes home safe, every day.

What are we looking for?

  • A higher technical education (engineering or related field).
  • At least 3 years’ experience leading engineering or maintenance teams in the FMCG or Food industry.
  • Proven experience managing capital projects of over $1M.
  • Strong collaboration skills with global teams and external suppliers.
  • A people-first leadership style — empowering, engaging, and focused on development.
  • A passion for innovation, continuous improvement, and sustainability.

What you can expect from Mars?

  • Work with diverse and talented Associates, all guided by The Five Principles.
  • Join a purpose driven company, where we’re striving to build the world we want tomorrow, today.
  • Best-in-class learning and development support from day one, including access to our in-house Mars University.
  • An industry competitive salary and benefits package, including company bonus.

Ready to shape the future with us?

If you’re a visionary technical leader with a passion for people, performance, and purpose — we’d love to hear from you.
Join Mars Food & Nutrition in Oud-Beijerland and help us make the world we want tomorrow, today.
