Team Leader – Castle Cary Factory, United Kingdom

Salary: £42 660,00 - £53 000,00 (including personal performance bonus & depending on experience) + shift allowance + benefits (Equal Parental leave, Pension up to 9% contribution, 4x Life assurance, Gym Membership, Career progression Opportunities, Private healthcare, EV Salary Sacrifice, Annual Leave starting at 24 days going up to 32 days, Free on-site parking, Free tea, lavazza coffee and free fruit twice a week, Employee shop)

Work pattern: Monday to Friday with 3 weeks time shifts

As a Shift Manager, you will play a pivotal role in overseeing a shift team within our factory operations. You will be responsible for ensuring the smooth running of production processes, maintaining high standards of safety and quality, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. Your leadership will empower your team to achieve operational targets and deliver outstanding results.

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Lead and Inspire: Manage and motivate a team of operators, fostering a collaborative and high-performing work environment.

  • Operational Excellence: Take ownership of production lines, equipment, and processes within your area, ensuring efficient start-up, shut-down, monitoring, cleaning, and changeovers.

  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process enhancements, implement solutions, and drive a culture of problem-solving and innovation.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: Build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support factory objectives and resolve issues effectively.

  • Performance Management: Analyze operational data, set clear actions, and coach team members to achieve and exceed key performance indicators (KPIs).

  • Personal Development: Champion the growth and development of your team, providing guidance and support to help individuals reach their full potential.

  • Safety & Compliance: Ensure all activities adhere to Mars safety standards and compliance policies.

What We’re Looking For?

  • Proven experience in leading production teams within the FMCG or Factory Operations industry.

  • Strong problem-solving skills and a track record of driving continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication abilities.

  • Demonstrated capability in coaching and developing team members.

  • Proficiency in analyzing data and translating insights into actionable improvements.

  • High level of English proficiency, both verbal and written.

  • Ambitious Shift Manager with the potential and desire to progress into site leadership roles.
