Job Description:

Mars: Where your Tomorrow Starts Today!

Mars is a family-owned business that has been making products for people and their pets for more than 100 years. We’re behind some of the best loved brands in the world including MARS®, SNICKERS®, EXTRA®, ECLIPSE®, PEDIGREE®, WHISKAS®, DOLMIO®, BEN’S ORIGINAL ® MASTERFOODS ® and ROYAL CANIN® and we are dedicated to making a positive impact on people and the planet.

About Mars Food & Nutrition Australia

Mars Food & Nutrition is dedicated to providing better food today and a better world tomorrow. For us, food is more than just what’s on our plate. We know that what we eat, where it comes from and who we share it with matters. We believe that a better world tomorrow is one where more people have access to healthy meals; more people cook and sit down together to enjoy shared dinnertimes; and more food can be produced with less.

We have an ambition to enable delicious, healthier eating to be part of consumers’ daily lives. Our portfolio of much-loved brands includes MASTERFOODS™, DOLMIO™, BEN'S ORIGINAL™, KAN TONG®, and PROMITE®.

About the opportunity

Reporting to the Marketing Director and as a member of the Marketing Leadership Team, this influential role will provide data-driven insights that guide brand, category, and consumer strategy.

You will help unlock the full potential of our brands by opening new creative spaces and focusing the business on the growth opportunities that matter most. You will turn consumer, shopper, and market data into actionable recommendations, and empower teams across Marketing, Sales, and Category to drive timely, impactful decisions.

You will help Mars F&N Australia anticipate trends, inform innovation, and drive growth across MasterFoods and other strategic brand portfolios.

What you’ll do

  • Lead consumer, shopper, and portfolio understanding to support brand positioning, integrated brand experiences, and innovation development.

  • Turn complex data into actionable insights, driving growth initiatives and portfolio strategy.

  • Inspire and provoke the business to act on insights with speed, turning analysis into commercially successful propositions.

  • Partner with internal teams (Marketing, Sales, R&D, S&F) and external partners (agencies, data providers like IRI) to deliver high-impact insights.

  • Shape the Australian insight agenda, prioritising research, foresight, and co-funded growth initiatives aligned with regional and global strategies.

  • Oversee adoption of data analytics tools, AI-driven insights, and self-service dashboards to drive data-led decision-making.

  • Embed a continuous Growth Process across the business, connecting insights to strategy and execution.

About you:

An experienced CMI professional, you combine analytical rigour with strategic thinking and strong commercial curiosity. You bring a passion for understanding consumers and a proven ability to translate insight into business impact. In addition, you’ll have:

  • A degree in Market Research, Marketing, Business, or a related field.

  • Deep expertise in category growth, brand strategy, and consumer and shopper behaviour.

  • Strong quantitative and qualitative research capability, including ad hoc and syndicated data.

  • A track record of turning complex data into clear, actionable insights that shape strategy and decision-making.

  • Strategic thinker with strong commercial acumen and a passion for understanding consumers.

  • Well-developed influencing and communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire senior stakeholders.

  • A proactive, agile mindset and confidence making decisions in ambiguous or data-light environments.

  • Proficiency in data analytics tools and platforms (e.g. IRI), with awareness of emerging AI and digital research solutions.
