Mars is embarking on a significant, enterprise wide, Digital Core technology transformation journey that will underpin how business segments operate in the future and unlock strategic priorities. The Enterprise teams will act as “Strategic Architects” in partnership with the segments, defining, building and deploying capabilities that support x-segment processes and standards.

The newly combined Enterprise Applications & Analytics (EAA) team, within Enterprise Technologies, plays a significant role designing, building, and delivering the technology (S/4 and Edge Systems) enabling the transformation. Within EAA, Finance is supported by three pillars, core SAP S/4, Enterprise Analytics, and Finance Systems which is responsible for partnering with, and delivering the Edge system technology needs of, the Controllership, Internal Audit, Tax, Treasury, and MGSF functions.

To lead the Record to Report (RTR) technology transformation in support of the Controllership, Internal Audit, and MGSF RTR Tower and Global Process owner teams, we have created the role of Record to Report Finance Systems Director.

What are we looking for?

  • A deep understanding of the RTR technology landscape (e.g. S/4 HANA, Blackline, One Stream (or similar), RPA, Celonis, audit management / analytics, control management software), system capabilities, and an clear understanding of how the different systems drive RTR business insight, process efficiency and effectiveness, and financial control.
  • Deep experience of the system integration lifecycle including system design and deployment, systems integration, data migration, and data model design.
  • A track record of having led multiple large and complex digital programs, most likely gained as a finance technology Senior Manager or Director at a global top tier consultancy (e.g. “Big 4”, Accenture, IBM, Cap Gemini) or as a finance transformation technology leader in a Fortune 500 or FTSE 100 organization.
  • Ability to remain flexible and resilient under pressure and comfortable in dealing with ambiguity in a fast-moving portfolio of activity.
  • In ability to influence key decision makers and business leaders combining strong verbal and written communication with excellent presentational skills.
  • Relevant Competencies/Capabilities: Dealing with Ambiguity, Standing Alone, Directing Others, Program management (including Agile delivery)

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Shape the RTR technology agenda within Mars working with senior business stakeholders including the Controllership and Internal Audit leadership teams, RTR MGSF GPOs and Tower leaders, FinTech leadership, and the Digital Core implementation teams, business integrators, and systems integrators.
  • Share leading practice RTR technology trends and application capabilities (both internal to Mars and externally) with the business to continue to drive business insights, effectiveness, and efficiency within the RTR process.
  • Lead the RTR Edge system Digital Core design and implementation.
  • Lead the delivery of a portfolio of RTR technology enabled Edge transformation projects consisting of cross-functional technology, business, and external consultant teams.
  • Work with partner groups, PMO’s and governance bodies to ensure seamless and efficient ways of working in decision making, design authority and communication.
  • Responsibility overall for budgets and finance processes for the RTR project portfolio (i.e. BAU, Digital Core, other transformation initiatives).
  • Represent the Senior Director Finance Systems in senior leadership sessions when required.
