Production Planner

Site: KKM – Mattoon, IL

The Production Planner role is responsible for developing, communicating, and maintaining site production schedules. This role is accountable to identify, gain agreement, and implement sourcing / scheduling solutions which optimize cost, service, and inventory levels.

What are we looking for?

  • Previous production planning / scheduling experience.
  • Strong analytical and planning skills, with a proven ability to work with numerical data.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office required. Preferred experience with SAP, JDA, Blue Yonder and planning systems functional knowledge.
  • Strong written & verbal communicator to interface with many stakeholders internal and external to the site, as well as the ability to negotiate, persuade, and analyze.
  • Collaborate effectively with Continuous Improvement Engineers / Specialists, Production Leads, and other site leaders.
  • Associate degree in a technical or related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing environment and / or completion of a two-year technical degree.

Internal Associate Requirements:

  • Must be in good performance standing, and not actively in attendance or performance management.
  • Candidates must have been met the requirements for time in role and have alignment from their current manager.

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Coordinate production schedules to deliver efficient production sequencing and manufacturing operation. This associate works comprehensively within the Demand Planning and internal supply chain to ensure site production supports customer needs.
  • Optimize output of SKUs through scheduling efficiencies, coordinate capacities for output optimization with Demand Planners to determine optimal production scheduling parameters. Balancing the requirements of business with customer needs.
  • Responsible for SKU set up and maintenance within the scheduling systems.
  • Develop a detailed understanding of the manufacturing constraints and capabilities of the Mattoon Site.
  • Proactively identify potential supply / demand issues and communicate findings to stakeholders in a timely manner through the appropriate channels.
  • Develop and revise schedules to comply with manufacturing constraints and guidelines. Schedules should optimize customer service while also taking into consideration labor and materials.
  • Participate in weekly MPS (Master Production Scheduling) meetings with Demand Planning, Inbound Logistics, Operations Managers, and communicate recommended production schedules
  • Coordinate and communicate necessary production schedule changes between the value streams, inbound raw and pack, outbound and QF&S to ensure efficient scheduling of line trials, downtime for repairs, installations, and changeovers.
  • Monitor differences between the committed schedules and the actual production using SA Dashboard. Document reasons for these differences.
  • Prepare weekly segment update reports comparing actual versus scheduled production to determine at-risk items and customer cuts.
  • Interface daily with execution and network planners.
  • Prepare special production studies, evaluations, and analyses, as directed by the Area Manager and VSM for the purposes of strategy planning and other analytical studies.
  • Understand and modify structure of the Sequencing and Master Planning Models in Blue Yonder to ensure production schedules satisfy all constraints and guidelines.
  • Attend activity management meetings to stay aware of new product / family timelines and how to incorporate those into the current site production plan.
  • Coordinate with execution and network planners to identify required changes to seasonal inventory pre-builds, re-balancing of production and production shift requirements.
  • Monitor SAP for finished good production that doesn’t have an order to process against. Create an order and manually process the finished goods.
  • Host weekly scheduling meeting with key stakeholders from each value stream to align on future schedules and labor requirements.
  • Maintain labor tracking file to align future schedules against site KPIs.

The base pay range for this position at commencement of employment is between the range listed below, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position will include variable pay, medical and dental benefits, participation in 401k plan, and paid time off benefits. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an applicant receives an offer of employment.

The pay range listed is applicable to IL:USD 27.63 - USD 37.99
