About the OPPORTUNITY

We have an exciting opportunity for a Production Planner on the Hunter Class Frigate Program based at Osborne Naval Shipyard, SA, reporting to the Production Planning Team Lead.

We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, such as working a 9-day fortnight.

You will be responsible for supporting the planning effort for the ship build phase of the Hunter Class Frigate Program (HCFP). Working closely with multiple departments, you will participate in the Integrated work team within your area, support readiness reviews and where required attend strategy meetings.

Note, relocation support may be available for candidates living interstate.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Develop and manage production plans, work orders, and job cards in accordance with established planning processes.
  • Utilise Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Material Resource Planning (MRP) systems to schedule work using rolling wave planning techniques.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to coordinate and execute the production schedule effectively.
  • Prepare accurate production estimates based on approved business norms.
  • Identify required Bill of Materials (BoMs) and generate detailed parts lists to support timely material issuing from the warehouse.
  • Monitor facility utilisation to sequence tasks efficiently and optimise resource allocation.
  • Track, analyse, and report on production schedule progress and performance.

About YOU

  • Proven experience in a production planning or scheduling role, preferably within heavy engineering or similar industries.
  • Trade experience will also be considered highly valuable.
  • Ability to confidently read and interpret technical drawings and 3D models.
  • Competency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.
  • Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and manage competing deadlines.
  • Defence security clearance or eligibility to obtain.
  • Eligibility to be cleared for International Traffic In Arms (ITAR) regulations.
