As Pet Caretaker at Mars, you will work in a team environment to provide daily care and management for the pets.

What are we looking for?

Minimum Qualifications:

• High school diploma or GED required

• 1-3 years' experience interacting with cats or dogs.

• Knowledge in animal facility operations

• Knowledge of animal health and management issues.

• Ability to lift approximately 50 pounds, work both indoors and outdoors, in all weather conditions, evenings, weekends and holidays as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience in basic grooming or training.

• Experience working in an animal facility or animal hospital.

What will be your key responsibilities?

• Complete daily cleaning for primary and secondary housing areas within the PHNC in accordance with SOPs, Animal Welfare Act, and Mars standards.
• Implement environmental enrichment, exercise, socialization and grooming programs in accordance with standard operating procedures.
• Evaluate pet health (both mental and physical) for any veterinary and/or enrichment needs. Assisting the Health Care Team in treatment and research collections as needed.
• Perform animal behavior and obedience training following the Mars Standards. This includes implementing behavior modification plans, training for research facilities, and support for rehoming.
• Follow Mars Safety (HSE) and Quality Management (QMS).
• Execute daily operations of the care unit to ensure pet safety and well-being, efficient running of the facility and that quality data is gathered from the protocols and delivered to the business.
