Lead and inspire a team of the laboratory scientist to deliver and support Waltham's research programmes and projects. Partner with Research Programme Leads to develop laboratory capabilities meet both current and future research needs. Ensure the smooth operation of the laboratory operations with responsibility for implementing QHSE activities to ensure accurate and efficient execution of research projects to meet the current and future needs.

• Partner with Research Programme Leads and Senior Research Scientists to ensure delivery the current and future research projects.
• Develop and Implementing QHSE activities to ensure accurate and efficient execution of research projects

What will be your key responsibilities?

• Lead a team of a laboratory based associates of 25 people providing guidance and support to ensure operational delivery and develop and maintain talented associate to ensure long-term performance.
• Partner with Research Programme Leads and Senior Research Scientists to ensure delivery the current and future research projects.
• Manage laboratory revenue and capital expenditure. Prioritisation and purchasing the right research equipment.
• Drive efficiency through out the operation through improvement in ways of work, effective use of new technology and appropriate use of partnering with contract service providers
