Job Purpose

To enable optimization of resource (assets/labor/expenses) in his/her assigned value stream by establishing current performance, identifying opportunities, leading the assessment of efficiency and de bottlenecking projects, developing improvements and assisting with their implementation.

Key Responsibilities

Capacity & Resources management

  • Initiates, conducts, and co-ordinates studies and analyses to identify and quantify process and product quality / capacity constraints, bottlenecks and opportunities. The jobholder will recommend ideal way forward.
  • The jobholder is the responsible to highlight and recommend ways of balancing utilization across the value stream.
  • Highlight areas of under- utilization.
  • Implement and improve the changeover matrix, recommend min. economic batch sizes and production sequence. § Agreement of line staffing with Operations and periodic control and feedback.
  • Review and approve proposed equipment layouts, operational designs and material flows, which impact direct cost elements, with a vision toward achieving plant long-term objectives.
  • Maintain capacity analyses for each process function for evaluation of potential capacity constraints.
  • Work with Planning team to secure a 12 month horizon for capacity, volume & utilization outlook for demand control cycle.

Performance Optimization

  • Suggest Ideas to improve the performance of the value stream.
  • Suggest and implement methods and modifications to optimize work place ergonomics for increased productivity
  • Lead different activities that will improve the TRS of the value stream, (ex: SMED implementation)
  • Lead & collaborate with operations & MTCE teams to Create TRS road Map per line for improvement
  • Own Menu Card for the lines in scope
  • Being Custodian on his/her lines performance KPI’s reporting in scope
  • Work with different factory function to develop Y+1 targets based on bottom up calculations, current performance and following year ambition
  • Act as a catalyst for improvement in vital red KPI’s that are below target.

Performance Measurement

  • Develop, and agree standards for capacity (SOCs), labor (Labor Standards) and excesses with Ops/Eng. To be updated as a result of change and input result in annual operating plans.
  • Administer performance vs. SOC and the labor standards in the Production Performance Monitoring Software.
  • Evaluate and recommend information system needs for accumulating operational data and performing routine analysis. Interface with other groups to ensure that operational needs are addressed on a priority basis. Assure that the results can be easily understood and communicated to line associates and management on a timely basis.
  • Lead the accuracy of the measures and liaise with operations / engineering.
  • Generate the periodic scorecards.
  • Creation and communication of additional factory reports and global benchmarking.
  • Represent IE in the daily FMOS meetings.
  • Lead the creation & continuous maintenance of lines in scope data base from “Score card, Menu Card, Line labors, Capacities & Speed file, performance history, P&L and financial status of PCC & ICP,

Value Leadership Ownership

  • Design the conversion cost model for his/her VS products.
  • Act as the engine for driving value leadership programs in his/her VS by working with different functions and stakeholders to come up and execute initiatives for cost optimization in production, logistics, quality, maintenance, primes, overheads, etc.
  • Prepare 3 years road map of initiatives with a cross functional team to ensure production conversion cost reduction of minimum 5% year on year to dilute inflation
  • On Annual Basis, he/she is responsible in leading a bench marking exercise for the technologies in scope with all other lines in the chocolate network and report it to the regional team
  • Lead VLiC road map implementation for saving projects generated from other site using

Mars Supply Excellence

  • He/she is a FI Pillar team member, and part of the FI Pillar plan implementation crew
  • He / she is essential element champion on site wise – “Loss Analysis Essential Element”
  • Responsible on Analyzing current factory performance as well as identifying opportunities with operations team in

current performance

  • Identify & Co-lead factory team with 100% of the workshops and act as internal coach for Continuous improvement tools to reach site ambition

Context and Scope

The job owner needs to establish a close, but independent relationship with his/her Value Stream Manager and have strong peer relationships to deliver through his/her peers in the value stream team

1. Education & Professional Qualification

B.SC. in Engineering preferably in mechanical, industrial or electrical field

Professional qualification in lean is preferred

Professional qualification in six sigma methodology is preferred

2. Knowledge/Experience

2-6 years of experience in FMCG environment in the manufacturing field

Excellent analytical, interpersonal and communication skills
