Job Description

Job Description:

***Paddington is the preferred location for this role. Applicants from other locations would be considered but not guaranteed***

You will lead the talent and leadership agenda for Pet Nutrition so the division has the leadership capability, succession depth, performance culture and talent deployment needed to deliver growth and transformation priorities. You will translate business strategy into a differentiated talent system that identifies, develops and deploys leaders to create disproportionate value for the division. You will also play a critical talent leadership role in broader Petcare with specific transversal accountabilities.

What are we looking for?

  • Deep experience in talent strategy, capability, succession, leadership development, performance management and organisational health

  • Experience in digitizing talent systems and embedding data-led talent intelligence

  • Business insight and credibility, ideally via HR Business Partner experience

  • Experience in a global business supporting large-scale organisational transformation and embedding talent, placement and performance principles through change.

  • Proven ability to influence senior leaders with evidence-based recommendations and balance immediate business needs with long-term leadership capability.

What will be your key responsibilities?

Talent Strategy

  • Own the divisional talent strategy in service of business priorities and growth ambitions, including organisation capabilities, leadership and strategic talent pipelines; ensure the right level of alignment and differentiation to the Petcare Talent strategy

  • Coach the Leadership Team to role model desired talent behaviours; balancing short-term business delivery with long-term leadership pipeline health, creating individual accountability with an enterprise mindset and together creating a high performance and development culture across the division.

Succession & Leadership Development

  • Embed a systemic approach that concentrates efforts and investment on the roles and capabilities that create disproportionate value for the division and drives leader capability and accountability.

  • Identify critical leadership and value-creating roles; partner with leaders to build sustainable succession pipelines over multiple time horizons with required risk mitigation plans

  • Identify high-potential leaders through evidence-based insights; shape divisional approach to creating insightful development plans that accelerate readiness, orchestrating relevant development and career pathways

  • Drive talent reviews, calibration processes and strategic deployment decisions across the division (regions and functions).

Talent Analytics & Workforce Intelligence

  • In partnership with People Data & Analytics, develop and leverage talent insights (organisational health indicators, performance data, succession strength, leadership pipeline sustainability, talent risk) to inform workforce and leadership decisions

Transformation

  • Design, lead and implement the talent workstream for Division-wide transformation programs

  • Anticipate future leadership and capability requirements arising from business strategy and transformation and develop plans to strengthen org readiness

Performance & Accountability

  • Own the divisional performance management philosophy and processes; ensure performance systems reinforce the behaviours, accountability and execution discipline required to win.

  • Strengthen quality of performance discussions, calibration and differentiation.

Petcare Talent Leadership

  • Contribute to the Petcare Talent Strategy and build the right level of alignment and differentiation in the division talent strategy

  • Systematically prepare the next generation of Petcare leaders through orchestration of relevant enterprise career experiences for prioritized talent groups; driving effective ways of working and role modelling an enterprise mindset

  • Drive identified cross-division talent priorities in North America in partnership with regional leadership

  • Own the performance management philosophy for Petcare, providing expertise on how to use talent and performance data to drive a high-performance culture, accountability and continuous development.
