Job Description

Job Description:

Director of Media Effectiveness & Enterprise Intelligence

Are you ready to shape the future of how a global leader connects with consumers? As the Director of Media Effectiveness & Enterprise Intelligence, you will be the visionary leader driving the next generation of marketing measurement, predictive analytics, and enterprise intelligence at Mars Petcare. Shifting the focus from hands-on data management to strategic business ownership, you will have the unique opportunity to build cutting-edge AI capabilities—moving beyond traditional dashboards to pioneer initiatives like interactive AI chatbots—enabling faster, smarter, and more democratic decision-making across our iconic brands.

In this highly visible leadership role, you will bridge the gap between media effectiveness (including Marketing Mix Modeling and advanced media testing) and strategic data strategy. By partnering with our central Data & Analytics (D&A) team, you will champion data quality and streamline pipeline efficiencies, freeing up bandwidth to focus on predictive modeling and forward-looking insights like category performance and pet population trends. If you are a collaborative builder who thrives on turning complex data into actionable business growth, this is your chance to make a lasting impact on a global scale.

What are we looking for?

  • Educational Requirements: Bachelor’s degree is required; an MBA or advanced degree is preferred.
  • Professional Experience: 12–15+ years in analytics, media measurement, insights, or data strategy roles.
  • Media Measurement Expertise: Deep experience in media performance measurement, attribution modeling, and ROI analysis.
  • Business Influence: Proven ability to connect marketing investments to business outcomes and influence strategic executive decision-making.
  • Advanced Analytics & Technology Leadership: Strong experience leading advanced analytics and data integration initiatives, with a passion for driving modern AI capabilities (e.g., leveraging AI chatbots/natural language models over standard dashboards).
  • Partner Management: Proven track record of managing external data providers, vendors, and analytics partners to optimize data quality and delivery speed.
  • Operational Ownership (Nice-to-Have): Experience acting as the strategic business owner of data strategy in collaboration with a centralized Data & Analytics (D&A) team.
  • Industry Context (Nice-to-Have): Experience in the CPG, FMCG, or Pet Care industry.

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Lead Media Performance Strategy: Lead the strategy and execution of media performance measurement across all channels, evolving best-in-class frameworks, attribution models, and campaign ROI tracking to guide budget allocation.
  • Advance Enterprise Intelligence & AI: Build enterprise intelligence capabilities by integrating media, consumer, shopper, and market data into cohesive insights, shifting focus from traditional dashboards to cutting-edge AI capabilities (such as AI chatbots).
  • Drive Advanced Analytics & Forecasting: Increase predictive capabilities and forward-looking decision-making across category performance, pet population trends, and broader market dynamics in partnership with stakeholders.
  • Champion Data Strategy as Business Owner: Serve as the strategic business owner of data strategy, partnering with the centralized Data & Analytics (D&A) team to ensure robust pipeline quality, data democratization, and one source of truth.
  • Optimize Efficiency & Cycle Times: Drive efficiencies across the data-to-insight pipeline, finding solutions with internal and external partners to dramatically shorten the time it takes to retrieve, clean, model, and digest data for analysis.
  • Develop the Media Learning Agenda: Test new media strategies and capabilities, building these into Mars Advertising Principles and driving recommendations into action with PGTs and media agencies.
  • Partner Cross-Functionally: Partner closely with Marketing, Media, and PGT teams to translate complex performance data into clear, actionable recommendations that improve campaign and business outcomes.
  • Manage External Data Partnerships: Investigate, evaluate, onboard, and manage key data providers and relationships, ensuring comprehensive coverage of sales, media, and causal data while strategically prioritizing vendor investments.

What can you expect from Mars?

  • Work with diverse and talented Associates, all guided by the Five Principles.
  • Join a purpose-driven company, where we’re striving to build the world we want tomorrow, today.
  • Best-in-class learning and development support from day one, including access to our in-house Mars University.
  • An industry competitive salary and benefits package, including company bonus.
