The role is responsible for the delivery of the data migration strategy, solution and processes to enable programme deliverables within S/4HANA and SAP MDG ensuring alignment with design, process and governance principles.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate and exemplify the Five Principles of Mars, Inc. personally and within the team.
  • Own and manage the S/4HANA programme Data Migration workstream, including planning, strategy, scope, governance and quality control.
  • Develop the data migration strategy and approach for the Programme, including data objects, extraction, transformation, load (ETL), validation methods and sequencing.
  • Oversee the build of the data migration tooling, templates and scripts, ensuring repeatable and auditable processes.
  • Ensure data quality and compliance, implementing controls, data cleansing plans, and issue resolution processes.
  • Manage cross functional dependencies, including integration with master data management, MDG, functional configuration, reporting and testing teams.
  • Support deployment teams in the application of the data migration strategy to each release.
  • Ensure the co-ordination of mock loads, data validation and reconciliation activities during unit testing, SIT, UAT and cutover rehearsals.
  • Produce key data migration documentation, including data migration registers, load plans, migration status reports and cutover execution guides.
  • Support cutover and go-live activities ensuring successful data loads, validation sign-off and issue resolution.
  • Collaborate effectively within a diverse team that fosters an inclusive culture, ensuring all contributions are valued and recognised.

Context and Scope

Programs are often marked by a seamless transition from the old system/landscape to the new one. As part of this SAP S/4HANA Digital Transformation program, we require someone with high-level expertise and experience in SAP data migration.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the delivery of the migration strategy and approach and will need to collaborate closely with counterparts at Mars (i.e. Petcare, Corporate, Snacking and Food) to ensure that the solution and processes are fit for purpose and deliver quality data into the new S/4HANA eco-system .

Job Specifications / Qualifications

Education and Professional

  • 5-10 years’ experience leading SAP data migration across major ERP transformation or S/4HANA migration programmes.
  • Experience of delivering complex, phased, multi-object data migrations in at least 3 full lifecycle ERP/SAP large-scale global programmes.

Knowledge and Experience

  • Strong understanding of SAP master data and transactional data objects (e.g., material master, customer/vendor, BOMs, routings, FI/CO objects, sales orders, purchase orders).
  • Hands-on experience with SAP S/4HANA migration tools and methodologies including:
    • SAP S/4HANA Migration Cockpit
    • Syniti Advanced Data Migration and Management (ADMM)
  • Strong knowledge of ETL processes, data modelling, transformation logic, validation, and reconciliation techniques.
  • Experience coordinating mock loads, data reconciliation, and cutover rehearsals.

  • Demonstrated ability to work with business SMEs and functional consultants to define mapping rules and resolve data issues.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, communication, and reporting skills with senior project leadership.
  • Ability to manage distributed teams, including offshore resources and third-party vendors.
  • Strong analytical skills with attention to data quality, traceability, and repeatable processes.
  • Highly organised with proven experience in setting and managing deadlines across diverse stakeholder groups while ensuring clear ownership and accountability for all activities.
  • Demonstrates a strong team player mindset with a drive to develop new professional skills combined with proactive, growth oriented and goal-focused approach to work.
