The Food & Nutrition Data Architect will be a key driving force in transforming the Food & Nutrition (F&N) business segment. Working closely with our partners, you will have overall accountability for data solution design, including Analytics, Visualisation, Dashboards, and Ops.

You will be responsible to bring in thought leadership in your domain of expertise and apply them to ways of working. As a trusted advisor, you will collaborate with segment cross-functional teams to design and implement cutting-edge data solutions that enhance customer experiences, drive revenue growth, and maintain a

competitive edge in the digital marketplace.

Moving to One Enterprise Data Platform for Food is a strategic Mars Food & Nutrition ambition. We aim to harness the power of data and insights, to solve some of the critical business-wide problems we face. And most importantly, we intend to simplify the global end user experience for data and analytics, unlocking

quality growth and operational excellence.

What are we looking for?

  • Hands-on experience in designing greenfield, scalable data platforms in cloud using Azure D&A stack, Databricks and Azure Open AI solution.

  • Proficiency in coding (Python,PL/SQL, Shell Script) relational and non-relational databases, ETL tooling (such as Informatica), scalable data platforms.

  • Proficiency in Azure Data and Analytics stack; working knowledge on AWS and GCP data solutions.

  • Good understanding of deploying AI solutions in Azure Open AI,GCP and AWS platforms.

  • 2 to 4 years' experience in applied data science role or equivalent; ideally in a CPG, Retail.

  • Experience in SAP MDG/S4 HANA is a big plus.

  • Working knowledge of data visualisation tools such as Power BI, to deliver output to the broader business community to improve decision making and productivity.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think strategically and translate business requirements into actionable architectural designs.

  • Strong collaboration skills, working with external technology vendors.

  • Strong Story Telling skills - excellent communication, with senior management exposure.

  • Deep understanding of business drivers / processes and ability to relate segment priorities to associated technology.

  • Learning agility and desire to learn new technology.

  • Strong problem analysis, negotiating and influencing skills.

  • Proven track record to get things done in a matrixed organisation and influencing without authority.

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Design, develop, optimise, and maintain the data architecture, strategy and pipelines that adhere to F&N principles and business goals.

  • Defining an operating model for developing and scaling data and analytics products, how the product supports the business strategy and goals, and bring to life through product roadmaps.

  • Partner with Senior business stakeholders to influence and transform seamless user experience &design for complex data and analytics.

  • Ensure all data products are developed with a clear KPI and value opportunity sizing

  • Define and execute the F&N data strategy roadmap, working in synergy with segment Data Platform Lead, Segment EA and central Mars Inc COE Analytics teams - to enhance the data lake and a real-time reporting environment for operations.

  • Lead complex data improvement and project management engagements, spanning cross divisions and markets in F&N.

  • Lead the evaluation, implementation, and deployment of emerging tools and best in class end-to-end data platforms – covering Demand, Supply, R&D, and Commercial.

  • Develop and deliver communication and education plans on analytics data engineering capabilities, standards, and processes.

  • Partner with machine learning engineers, BI, and solutions architects to develop technical architectures for F&N enterprise projects and initiatives.

  • Learn about machine learning, data science, computer vision, artificial intelligence, statistics, and/or applied mathematics
