The ideal candidate will possess a deep understanding of data modelling, database design, and data management strategies. As a Senior Data Architect, you will play a critical role in shaping our data architecture, ensuring data integrity, security, and availability, and driving the organization's data strategy and governance.

What are we looking for?

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in data architecture and database design within complex enterprise environments.

  • Proficiency in data modelling techniques, database normalization, and denormalization strategies.

  • Strong understanding of data integration patterns, ETL processes, data warehousing, and data lake architectures.

  • Experience with a variety of database systems, such as relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra).

  • Familiarity with data governance, data quality, and data lineage concepts.

  • Knowledge of data security best practices, including encryption, access controls, and compliance with data regulations.

  • Proficiency in data visualization tools and techniques for conveying complex data concepts.

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to analyze and address complex data-related challenges.

  • Exceptional communication skills to convey technical concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.

  • Leadership capabilities with a proven track record of leading data architecture efforts and mentoring team members.

  • Strong analytical mindset and a commitment to staying updated on industry trends.

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Lead the design and implementation of scalable and efficient data architecture solutions that support current and future business needs.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, data engineers, other domain architects, product owners, and stakeholders, to define data requirements and translate them into comprehensive data models.

  • Develop data architecture strategies, standards, and best practices that guide data governance, quality, security, and integration efforts.

  • Create and maintain logical and physical data models, entity-relationship diagrams, and data dictionaries to ensure a clear understanding of data structures and relationships.

  • Assess and recommend appropriate data storage technologies, database management systems, and data processing frameworks to optimize performance and scalability.

  • Design data integration and ETL processes to ensure seamless data flow across systems and support business intelligence and reporting requirements.

  • Define and enforce data security and privacy measures, including access controls, encryption, and compliance with relevant data regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA).

  • Collaborate with solution architects and enterprise architects to align data architecture with overall IT and business strategies.

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to data engineering and analytics teams, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.

  • Stay up-to-date with emerging data technologies, trends, and best practices to drive innovation within the organization.

  • Lead discussions and presentations to communicate complex data architecture concepts to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Collaborate with external vendors and partners as necessary to evaluate and implement data-related solutions.

  • Assist in the estimation of project timelines, resources, and budgets related to data architecture efforts.

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of data architecture documentation, guidelines, and reference architectures.
