As we continue to prioritize Sustainability as a key driver to our success in Mars Wrigley, we are looking for a Data Solution Architect to bring knowledge and leadership to build our foundational sustainability data strategy, data models, advanced data solutions and consult on the necessary analytics tools to deliver fit for purpose insights. This role will work closely with Mars Wrigley and Mars, Inc. Sustainability Teams, Digital Technologies, Procurement, and Supply functions to map out our Sustainability data and systems landscape and consult on how to best move forward in partnership with other programs and initiatives. As a Sustainability Data Solution Architect, you will be the leader responsible for applying expertise in data science to uncover our existing Sustainability data across multiple tools and systems and devise a strategy for how Sustainability data should be stored, maintained, reported, and utilized to drive the correct insights and decision-making against our sustainability goals.

What are we looking for?

  • Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics or related discipline or equivalent combination of education or experience
  • 7+ years of relevant work experience in data science developing and building data models, BI solutions and digital solutions to support reporting and analytics capabilities in organizations. Knowledge of data architecture, big data architectures, experience of building solutions on Azure, AWS, GCP, Multi-threaded data processing on CPU and GPU architectures.
  • Knowledge of principles and best practices around data and data consumption to support digitalization and analytics.
  • Experience with various modelling methodologies, such as 3NF, Dimensional, and Data Vault
  • Experience in creating enterprise data models with a comprehensive understanding of Data Warehousing/Analytic services to deliver end-to-end architecture.
  • Experience mapping tools, systems and data to end to end processes in service of efficient and robust ecosystem design, and guiding analysis for additional fit for purpose solutions to address gaps or inefficiencies.
  • Experience with enterprise workflow, rules and orchestration technologies
  • Experience in the technical leadership of large software implementation projects including Enterprise Integration technologies and patterns
  • Ability to deliver compelling and confident presentations centered on data and its value connection to process and decision making
  • Ability to develop trusted relationships across internal technical and business stakeholder groups, and key external partners
  • Ability to manage complexity and ambiguity and give clear advice and leadership to internal and external teams

What will be your key responsibilities?

  • Collaborate with key business users to identify requirements and opportunities for improved Sustainability data management and delivery
  • Optimize overall data/information flow by reducing redundancy and enabling accessibility within security boundaries
  • Develop high level Sustainability enterprise data model and conceptual views of related data sub-architectures
  • Develop or use existing guiding principles, reference architectures, data landscapes, standards, best practices and roadmaps that support Sustainability data priorities aligned with existing Supply Chain Data and Analytics frameworks
  • Develop and maintain required documentation pertaining to data models and codes used to develop analytics and visualization solutions.
  • Own and centrally manage the logical and physical data models support the sustainability analytic needs.
  • Recommend appropriate technologies to support the implementation of the BI roadmap
  • Provide BI technical and architectural guidance to projects and teams, ensuring that new Sustainability initiatives enable effective data reporting
  • Provide technical leadership regarding integration impact across business, information, application, technical and security architectures
  • Guide the organization about the business potential and strategy of artificial intelligence/data science to unlock the Sustainability commitments
  • Collaborate with data stewards in establishing and maintaining resilient, reusable standardized data patterns
  • Develop, document and conduct user training for developed solutions users in collaboration with business process owners.
