Job Description

As a Workshop Supervisor you will lead and manage the LnS Asset Maintenance team, ensuring all equipment and facilities operate at their optimum level of safety, reliability, availability & efficiency. Implementation of equipment maintenance strategies based on Area Asset Maintenance requirements and local legislation as well as develop skills and competencies of local Asset Maintenance team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Health Safety and Environment

  • Lead by example, ensuring compliance with local HSSE policies & procedures, enforcing safe working practices, and promoting a safe workplace

  • Promotes the delivery of continuous improvement and constant drive towards incident free operations

  • Ensures the development and adoption of best practices and ways of working developed through controlled Management of Change

Performance / Operational

  • Provide leadership and strategy to the team

  • Consistently ensure that service of the highest quality is delivered to customers.

  • Define and track Area and local KPIs and targets whilst reporting deviations from targets, developing improvement actions where necessary

  • Encourage the use of new processes, procedures and technology to enhance operational performance and efficiency

Strategy

  • Implement Area maintenance strategies for all equipment considering local legislation and variances

  • Ensure all operational and technical risks are identified, reviewed and suitable mitigations are put in place

Resource Management

  • Identify and manage Asset Maintenance resource requirements, align with operational and commercial forecasts

  • Responsible for efficiently deploying the equipment, procedures, and human resources necessary to accomplish local operational plans

  • Work closely with the Area/Region and local Human Resources Department to obtain clarification, direction, and consultation regarding employee related matters

People / Communications

  • Build a strong team by attracting and retaining talent/ monitor maintenance activities with suppliers

  • Provide effective overall management, supervision, coaching, mentoring and support for all direct reports

  • Create and sustain an environment that is supportive of learning, training and development, whilst facilitating open dialogue and communications so that Depot, Trucking and Warehouse operations and activities can run effectively and efficiently

  • Reinforce APM Group culture, values & reputation and ensure compliance with APM Group policies, standards, and procedures

  • Support Area Asset Maintenance Operating System and maintain regular contact with peers from other depots

Cost Management

  • Manage local budgets and technical equipment reports, as required

  • Assist the Fleet & Equipment Manager to develop and manage the Maintenance & Repair Department budget.

Reporting and Scope

  • Direct reports: Equipment Electro technician, Welder, Tire Man, driver

  • The position reports to Equipment and Fleet Manager

  • The scope of the position is primarily local

Work / Business Contacts and Authority

  • Equipment and Fleet Maintenance Team

  • Depot Operation Team

  • Landside Operations Team

  • MCL Operations Team

  • Interaction with other depot Maintenance team to share and implement best practices

  • HR, FinOps, Admin, Procurement and relevant internal stakeholders

  • Vendors and suppliers

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED:

  • Minimum university degree in engineering or relevant field

  • Requires two years’ experience leading maintenance and repair departments

  • Requires good problem-solving skills, with an ability to define the problem, identify solutions and select the best solution

  • Demonstrated leadership skills with ability to empower others to act

  • Strong communication skills with the ability to communicate across the local organization

  • Strong interpersonal skills able to build relationships and manage multiple stakeholders' interests toward a common business benefit

  • Able to exercise discretion and good judgment, with an ability to understand the overall effect of decisions taken, both locally and company-wide

  • Able to handle confidential company and employee information with complete discretion

  • Conversational English and fluent in French

  • Knowledge of local Safety, Health and Environment workplace regulations

  • knowledge in computer skills and professional programs (i.e.: Microsoft Office, Database, CMMS systems)

In this position, the incumbent will have an opportunity to acquire skills and knowledge in the following areas:

  • Extensive exposure to maintenance scheduling and planning of Depot, Trucking and Warehouse equipment

  • Exposure to LnS operations

  • Exposure to global polices, standards, procedures and overall operating requirements

  • Experience in new processes, methods, techniques with different equipment
