
Student Assistant (Early Careers)- Aviation Security

Maersk Air Cargo is looking for a Student Assistant to support the Head of Security in managing personnel security, compliance, reporting and continuous improvement activities. This is a unique opportunity to gain practical experience within aviation security, regulatory compliance, governance and stakeholder management while working directly with a senior leader responsible for security across an international air cargo operation.
Unlike many student positions, you will be trusted with responsibilities that have a direct impact on compliance, operational resilience and the protection of our people, assets, and business.
Your responsibilities
Your primary focus will be supporting personnel security and compliance activities, including:
- Managing and tracking Enhanced Background Checks (EBCs) and related personnel security requirements through our security management platform (P-Secure).
- Coordinating with employees, managers, Human Resources and other stakeholders to ensure timely completion of security screening activities.
- Maintaining accurate records, documentation, and compliance evidence.
- Supporting compliance monitoring, reporting and data analysis activities.
- Assisting with dashboard development and performance tracking using Excel and Power BI.
- Supporting the development and maintenance of aviation security awareness and e-learning material.
- Providing general support to the Head of Security on governance activities, projects and continuous improvement initiatives.
Who we are looking for
You are currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's degree programme in a danish university and preferably have at least two years remaining of your studies.
We are particularly interested in candidates studying:
- Security Management
- Risk Management
- Law
- Aviation Management
- Or similar disciplines
Most importantly, you are someone who:
- Demonstrates a high degree of integrity, discretion, and professionalism.
- Is comfortable handling sensitive and confidential information.
- Is structured, organized, and detail oriented.
- Takes ownership of tasks and follows them through to completion.
- Communicates confidently and professionally with stakeholders at different levels of the organization.
- Enjoys working with structured processes and regulatory requirements.
- Is curious, eager to learn, and willing to challenge existing ways of working.
Experience with Excel is expected, while experience with Power BI is considered an advantage but not a requirement.

Security requirement
As this position supports regulated aviation security activities and involves access to sensitive information, employment is subject to successful completion of an Enhanced Background Check and any other applicable security screening requirements.
