Job Description

Seize Every New Opportunity, Pursue Every New Experience.

At Maersk, we’re not afraid to be first. It’s about being brave, travelling further, exploring new ideas and finding new ways to be better – for our customers and society. Entrepreneurial spirit is in our DNA. We see change as an opportunity and reinventing ourselves has always come naturally. But we also welcome your own perspective and pioneering efforts.

Your contribution always counts in our pursuit of new horizons.

We are looking for a university or business school student with an international mindset.

The position involves corporate secretarial tasks such as managing the collection of signatures, arranging for notarization and legalization as well as scanning and forwarding of documents. The right candidate will to a large degree work independently with handling of signing requests which will consume most of the working hours.

We Offer

An opportunity for you to join a highly skilled working environment in Maersk's legal department as our new student assistant. You will be given the opportunity to work independently while being part of a highly international department.

You will be part of a truly international company with our employees representing 65 nationalities. Our strong focus on diversity is a natural outcome of a company with a strong talent focus, mindset and culture. This goes hand in hand with a commitment to inclusion: all employees are valued and treated with respect at all times and we believe that our employees thrive and perform better with a healthy work-life balance.

You will be working out of our office in Esplanaden, providing support for our Legal Department, for 15-20 hours/ week.

Key Responsibilities

The Corporate Law & Special Projects Team is a section in Maersk’s Legal Department consisting of 17 members providing support to the global Maersk organization on a broad range of matters, including corporate law, specific projects and legal operations.

The position is anchored in the Legal Department at Maersk's headquarter in Copenhagen but with an extensive international reach and requires interaction and collaboration with stakeholders in the entire Maersk organisation.

The main areas of responsibility are:

  • Managing collection of signatures, notarization and legalization, scanning and forwarding of documents.
  • Updating and maintenance of Ultimate Beneficial Owner documentation.
  • Filing and archiving including digitization of paper records.
  • Administrative tasks on an ad hoc basis.

We Are Looking For

We are looking for a university or business school student based in Copenhagen, as the position is located at our Copenhagen office. You must have strong Danish language skills, as Danish is required for this role, and English is equally important, as much of our communication and documentation is handled in English.

You do not need to study law to apply. In fact, being early in your studies can be a great advantage. What matters most is that you are self‑driven, have a flair for coordination, can keep several tasks running at the same time, and remain calm when things get busy. Everything else we can teach you.

We do, however, envisage that you have the following skills:

  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, SharePoint, Teams)
  • Team-oriented, with an ability to value a diverse and geographically dispersed team
  • Handle multiple, simultaneous tasks effectively and efficiently
  • Prioritize tasks for timely adherence to deadlines
  • Ability to self-teach in terms of technical skills
  • Service-minded team player
  • Meticulous and systematic working manner
  • Reliable
  • Keen eye for details
  • Excellent written and verbal skills with people at all levels across the organization in English and Danish

As a performance-oriented company, we strive to always recruit the best person for the job – regardless of gender, age, nationality, sexual orientation or religious beliefs.

We are proud of our diversity and see it as a genuine source of strength for building high-performing teams.

Maersk is committed to a diverse and inclusive workplace, and we embrace different styles of thinking. Maersk is an equal opportunities employer and welcomes applicants without regard to race, colour, gender, sex, age, religion, creed, national origin, ancestry, citizenship, marital status, sexual orientation, physical or mental disability, medical condition, pregnancy or parental leave, veteran status, gender identity, genetic information, or any other characteristic protected by applicable law. We will consider qualified applicants with criminal histories in a manner consistent with all legal requirements.

We are happy to support your need for any adjustments during the application and hiring process. If you need special assistance or an accommodation to use our website, apply for a position, or to perform a job, please contact us by emailing accommodationrequests@maersk.com.
