Key Responsibilities

As Sales Manager – Slovenia, you will be accountable for the commercial and people leadership of the local sales organization. Your responsibilities will include:

Sales & Business Leadership

  • Own the commercial strategy and execution for Slovenia, driving growth across Ocean and Logistics & Services (L&S).
  • Achieve volume, revenue, and profitability targets through strategic account management and business development.
  • Foster long-term customer partnerships, ensuring high satisfaction and retention.
  • Lead key negotiations and ensure effective contract management and renewal.

People Management & Team Development

  • Lead, motivate, and develop a team of Sales Representatives and Key Account Managers.
  • Build a high-performance culture based on collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Provide coaching, mentoring, and clear direction to enhance individual and team performance.
  • Foster a customer-centric mindset and ensure alignment with Maersk’s global commercial strategy.

Operational & Cross-functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with Operations, Customer Experience, and Product teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
  • Support the resolution of escalated customer issues and drive process improvement initiatives.
  • Promote the use of CRM tools (Salesforce.com) and data-driven decision-making to enhance sales effectiveness.

Who We’re Looking For

We are seeking a strategic, people-focused leader with a strong commercial background and proven success in sales management.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of experience in sales leadership or key account management within logistics, shipping, or freight forwarding.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead and develop high-performing teams.
  • Strong business acumen, strategic thinking, and execution skills.
  • Proven track record in driving new business growth, especially in Logistics & Services (contract logistics, supply chain management, forwarding).
  • Excellent relationship-building and negotiation skills.
  • Fluent in Slovenian and English.
  • Experience with Salesforce.com or other CRM systems preferred.
