Services Sales

Services Sales is accountable for the new client business development and relationship management or growing existing accounts by originating, managing and closing up-sell/cross-sell opportunities and orchestrating outcome-based delivery execution. It has significant influence on the development and growth of strategic new Services business and develops and maintains effective strategic relationships in assigned account(s). They are also accountable to ensure business growth through business development activities and ensure they are delivered in accordance with the organizational strategy. Accountable for the sales or/and delivery activities for the assigned client/s. Represents the Services organization from a sales and business development perspective and is a key contributor to the overall success of the customer and partner relationships.

Key Responsibilities & Tasks

Services Sales Manager has full accountability for development and management of high-performing sales team, owning and driving business growth in a designated industry/territory, driving team to achieve and exceed business targets. As a people manager he/she facilitates team development and sets high-performance standards and strategic priorities, ensures success of each team member. As a first-level sales leader he/she is responsible for business development and value-based market penetration strategies ensuring customer, partner and SAP Services success.

Team Management

• Structure development and effective management of Effective Services Sales team

• Building a world-class sales team by recruiting a high calibre sales talent

• Motivates and empowers the sales team, resolves conflicts, removes barriers and drive innovation

• Develop and manage employees' growth and skill sets

• Drives individual growth and development of sales team, setting objectives, performance standards and priorities, coaching and acting as role model on sales approaches and account leadership

• Identifying and supporting teams’ development needs in strategic areas

Sales Management

• Driving growth and reliable execution within a designated Territory or Accounts assigned to members of his/her team

• Active support and if needed, involvement in entire Sales Engagement

• Achieving or exceeding business targets (order entry, revenue, and profitability)

• Own team performance and drives each sales team member toward expected quarterly and annual sales objectives

• Lead the sale of the complete Services portfolio (according to defined Sales bag)

• Be a Trusted Advisor and "Talk Business"

• Drives team towards expected market penetration and customers/partners satisfaction levels

• Management of account/territory planning and accurate forecasting

• Implement business strategies to ensure customer success driving revenue targets

• Enforce strategic selling across own unit / country / region Ensures disciplined sales methodology application across team, resulting in consistent and accurately forecasted financial results

• Introduces strong sales processes to ensure adequate pipeline of opportunities and demand generations for sustainable growth

Stakeholder Management

• Facilitate alignment between services and license-sales for effective Account Planning and Strategy

• Liaison within internal stakeholders within different Lines of Business

• Establish and maintain powerful long-term relationships with clients’ C-Level stakeholders/buying centres

• Effective management of the relevant partners

Transformational Leadership

• Communicate a clear vision • Set demanding goals and empower accountability

• Actively establish relationships characterized by mutual respect and trust

• Encourage people to continuously question the status quo and activate their creative and innovative skills

• Act as a role model, show authentic behaviour, demonstrate best practices and encourage team members to share experiences, celebrate success, promote SAP as a great place to work

Experience & Educational Requirements

Leadership Experience

• 5+ years in sales leadership positions within enterprise software and services industry

• Strong leadership and people management experience of mid-size sales teams

• Proven ability to build, develop and drive high-performing teams

• Experience in leading virtual teams cross-border

• Experience in managing and solving conflicts Education

• Bachelor or Master's Degree (MBA would be advantageous)

Professional Training & Certification

• Training in Acting as a Manager (e.g. leading a team, cascading strategy, people development, internal processes & tools, sales process methodology)

Language Requirement

• English: Fluent

• Local language: Fluent

• Other: fluency in additional languages a distinct advantage
