Job Description

At Maersk, millions of cargo events are generated every day as containers move through ports, terminals, inland networks, vessels, and customer supply chains around the world. These events power shipment visibility, operational decision-making, customer experiences, and the systems that keep global trade moving.

We're looking for a Senior Product Manager to join our Cargo Event Monitoring team and help shape the future of how Maersk tracks, monitors, and understands cargo movement across its global network.

This is an opportunity to take ownership of a critical domain within COMET (Container Monitoring and Event Tracking), Maersk's next-generation platform for cargo event monitoring and visibility. As COMET continues to replace a long-standing legacy environment, you'll play a key role in reimagining how cargo events are collected, validated, managed, and consumed across the business.

Rather than delivering a like-for-like system replacement, you'll help define the future state, challenging existing processes, improving data quality, and creating products that drive better outcomes for customers, operations teams, and the wider business.

What you'll be doing

As a Senior Product Manager, you'll own a product domain end-to-end, from discovery and strategy through delivery, adoption, and measurable business outcomes.

Working closely with engineers, subject matter experts, operational stakeholders, and business leaders, you'll identify opportunities to solve complex problems at scale and deliver capabilities that improve visibility, decision-making, and operational performance.

You will:

  • Define and drive the product vision, strategy, roadmap, and outcomes for your domain.
  • Lead discovery activities to understand customer, operational, and business needs and translate them into impactful product solutions.
  • Partner closely with engineering teams to deliver scalable, resilient, and data-driven products.
  • Use data and insights to guide prioritisation, measure success, and inform product decisions.
  • Drive the migration of critical capabilities from legacy systems into COMET, ensuring successful adoption while balancing risk, business continuity, and long-term value creation.
  • Simplify processes, eliminate sources of manual effort, and improve the quality, reliability, and timeliness of cargo event information.
  • Build strong partnerships across a diverse stakeholder landscape and influence decisions without relying on formal authority.
  • Contribute to a collaborative product culture through mentoring, knowledge sharing, and continuous improvement.

Who we're looking for

We're looking for a product leader who combines strong product management capabilities with a deep understanding of operational and event-driven environments.

You may have experience in logistics, transportation, supply chain technology, shipping, track-and-trace platforms, visibility products, or other complex operational domains where accurate real-time information drives business outcomes.

We're particularly interested in people who bring:

  • Significant experience owning and evolving products or product domains within technology-driven organisations.
  • A strong track record of delivering outcomes through product discovery, prioritisation, delivery, and adoption.
  • Experience working with event-driven, visibility, tracking, monitoring, or operational technology products.
  • The ability to navigate complex stakeholder environments and influence effectively across business and technology functions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to understand operational processes, identify root causes, and drive meaningful improvements.
  • A high level of comfort working with data-intensive products, integrations, and complex business rules.
  • Hands-on experience using data to make product decisions, including investigating issues, interpreting event flows, understanding data quality challenges, and engaging confidently in discussions involving APIs, integrations, queries, and system architecture.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to engage equally effectively with senior leaders, operational experts, and engineering teams.

Experience supporting the migration, modernisation, or replacement of a business-critical platform or legacy system would be highly advantageous.

Why join us?

This is a unique opportunity to help modernise a capability that sits at the heart of Maersk's global logistics network.

You'll work on products that support the movement of cargo around the world, helping to shape the next generation of tracking and event-monitoring capabilities while partnering with talented colleagues across product, engineering, operations, and business teams.

In return, you'll join an international, collaborative environment where you'll have significant ownership, high visibility, and the opportunity to drive meaningful impact at global scale.

Interested?

If you're excited by the challenge of transforming complex operational systems, solving data-rich problems, and building products that make a real difference to customers and operations worldwide, we'd love to hear from you.

Submit your CV and a brief cover letter outlining your relevant experience and motivation for the role. We will review applications on a rolling basis.

Location & workplace: This role is based in Copenhagen and is designed for in-person collaboration with colleagues across product, engineering, and business teams. Team members are expected to work on-site five days per week.
