Head of Cargo Event Monitoring
Job Description
Help shape the future of cargo visibility at Maersk
At Maersk, we move goods for customers around the world, connecting global supply chains through innovative logistics solutions. Every container movement generates a stream of events, from loading and discharge to inland transportation and final delivery. Turning those events into accurate, trusted, and actionable insights is critical to how we serve customers and run our operations.
We are looking for a Head of Cargo Event Monitoring to lead one of the most strategically important domains within our digital transformation journey.
In this role, you will lead the Cargo Event Monitoring domain within COMET, Maersk's next-generation platform for container event tracking and visibility. You will be responsible for shaping the vision, strategy, and execution of capabilities that help customers and teams understand where cargo is, whether it is moving as planned, and what actions are needed when exceptions occur.
What you'll do
As Head of Cargo Event Monitoring, you will lead a team of Product Managers responsible for a business-critical domain that sits at the intersection of operations, technology, customer experience, and data... but this is more than a product leadership role. We are looking for a leader who can combine strategic thinking, operational excellence, people leadership, and business transformation to deliver meaningful outcomes at global scale.
You will:
- Define and drive the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Cargo Event Monitoring, ensuring alignment with business priorities and customer needs.
- Lead the continued transformation from legacy solutions to modern digital capabilities, driving adoption and long-term value realization.
- Reimagine business processes and operating models, using technology, automation, and data to simplify complexity and improve performance.
- Improve event visibility, operational workflows, data quality, exception management, and decision-making across the cargo journey.
- Establish governance, prioritization frameworks, and execution disciplines that enable teams to deliver consistently and effectively.
- Partner closely with stakeholders across Product, Engineering, Operations, Customer Experience, and Data functions to deliver business outcomes.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of Product Managers, creating an inclusive and high-performing environment where individuals can grow and succeed.
- Build alignment across diverse stakeholder groups and influence decision-making at senior leadership levels.
Who we're looking for
We are seeking a leader who can bring structure to complexity, inspire teams through change, and successfully translate strategy into execution.
You will likely bring:
- Significant experience leading and developing high-performing teams.
- Experience managing Product Managers, Product Owners, or similarly strategic professionals.
- A proven track record of leading complex transformation, modernization, or change initiatives.
- Strong business acumen and experience operating in large, matrixed, or global organizations.
- The ability to simplify complex challenges and drive measurable business outcomes.
- Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills, including experience working with senior leaders.
- Experience establishing clear governance, accountability, and ways of working that improve execution and delivery.
It would be an advantage if you have experience in
- Logistics, transportation, shipping, supply chain, or related operational environments.
- Cargo visibility, event tracking, monitoring, or operational control-tower functions.
- Platform modernization or legacy-to-new system transformations.
- Process optimization, automation, and operational excellence initiatives.
- Data-driven products, analytics, or AI-enabled business solutions.
- Product management leadership within complex enterprise environments.
What success looks like
In your first months, you will assess the current environment, establish a clear strategic direction, and create alignment around priorities and execution. You will help strengthen governance, improve operational discipline, and balance long-term innovation ambitions with immediate business needs.
Most importantly, you will empower your team to deliver outcomes that improve visibility, efficiency, and customer experience while helping shape the future of Cargo Event Monitoring across Maersk.
