Opportunity
Would you like to play a key role in ensuring the safe, reliable and efficient operation of some of the world's largest container vessels?
As Fleet Superintendent, you will be responsible for the technical and operational performance of a portfolio of vessels, balancing complex operational demands with long-term performance objectives. Acting as the link between onboard leadership and shore-based stakeholders, you will be at the center of important decisions that directly impact safety, reliability and business performance.
Reporting to the Fleet Director, you will have direct people management responsibility for the Masters and Chief Engineers assigned to the vessels in your portfolio. As leader of leaders, you will be entrusted with developing strong maritime leaders, fostering high performance and ensuring that the vessels under your responsibility operate safely, efficiently and to the highest standards.
Working closely with colleagues across Operations, Procurement, Network and Technology, you will manage a broad range of challenges, from resolving day-to-day operational issues to driving continuous improvements across the vessels under your responsibility. This role offers a unique opportunity to influence outcomes at both vessel and fleet level while operating in a dynamic international environment.

The position is on-site based in Copenhagen and will involve occasional international travel.
Key Responsibilities
As Fleet Superintendent, you will be responsible for the technical, operational and people management aspects of the vessels assigned to your fleet.
Ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective operation of assigned vessels through strong technical and operational management
Be leader of leaders on-board teams i.e., Masters and Chief Engineers, driving high performance and engagement
Act as the primary liaison between vessels and key business stakeholders (such as Operations, Network, Procurement) to deliver on strategic priorities and objectives
Maintain safety and regulatory compliance, including flag state, class, and international requirements
Monitor vessel performance, investigate issues, implement sustainable corrective actions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives
Ensure planned and unplanned maintenance, repairs and modifications are executed efficiently and within approved budgets
Plan and coordinate vessel inspections, surveys, and dry dockings
Work closely with Procurement, suppliers, workshops, and shipyards to ensure timely and cost-effective support to the fleet
Who We Are Looking For
We are seeking a candidate with strong marine engineering expertise and a proactive approach to preventive maintenance to minimise breakdowns, improve fleet reliability and enhance cost efficiency. You can anticipate technical risks across critical systems, including propulsion, auxiliary machinery and power generation equipment, and develop sustainable solutions that improve operational performance over time.
You bring experience from vessel management, ideally as a Fleet Superintendent, Technical Superintendent, Vessel Manager or Chief Engineer. We also welcome applications from experienced 2nd Engineers or1st Engineers who are ready to take the next step into a broader fleet leadership role.
You have a solid understanding of vessel operations, technical management and regulatory compliance, and are comfortable balancing operational, technical and commercial priorities. You are a trusted leader who builds strong relationships across onboard and shore-based teams, takes ownership of challenges and decisions, and thrives in a dynamic environment.
Most importantly, you are motivated by creating safe operations, developing people and delivering strong fleet performance through collaboration, technical expertise and leadership.
