About the role
We are looking for a commercially driven and strategically minded Global LCL & Cargo Risk Management (Insurance) Business Development Manager to accelerate growth across our Ocean LCL, FCL Forwarding, and Cargo Risk Management product portfolio.
This is a highly visible global role where you will work closely with Product, Sales, and regional teams to identify strategic opportunities, strengthen sales effectiveness, and convert complex customer opportunities into measurable business growth. You will act as a trusted advisor to customers and internal stakeholders, helping organizations optimize their supply chains while mitigating transportation risks.

What You'll Be Doing:
Drive Strategic Growth
- Identify, develop, and orchestrate strategic business opportunities across Global, Regional, and Area teams.
- Partner with Sales teams and customers to create winning forwarding and cargo insurance solutions.
- Drive pipeline growth, conversion rates, and commercial performance across markets.
- Contribute to the execution of global product strategies and growth initiatives.
Customer Engagement & Solution Development
- Engage with strategic and enterprise customers, building relationships with senior stakeholders.
- Act as a subject matter expert and trusted advisor on LCL, FCL forwarding, and Cargo Risk Management solutions.
- Design end-to-end customer solutions tailored to complex supply chains.
- Support large-scale, strategic, and long-cycle opportunities from qualification through closure.
Sales Enablement & Commercial Excellence
- Equip Sales teams with insights, tools, and guidance that improve win rates and customer engagement.
- Deliver product training and capability-building initiatives across Sales, Key Account, Vertical, and Business Development teams.
- Promote product enhancements, market opportunities, and value propositions globally.
- Analyze pipeline performance and lost opportunities to identify improvement opportunities and strengthen competitiveness.
Business Execution & Stakeholder Management
- Ensure smooth handover from opportunity development to onboarding and operational execution.
- Coordinate effectively with Product, Operations, and Commercial teams.
- Act as an escalation point for complex and strategic customer opportunities.
- Foster collaboration across a diverse Global-Region-Area organizational structure.
What Are We Looking For?
- Proven success in a customer-facing commercial role with responsibility for developing customer relationships and driving growth.
- Strong freight forwarding experience, ideally within LCL products, with FCL and Ocean forwarding expertise highly valued.
- Demonstrated success in sales, business development, solution selling, or strategic account development.
- Experience managing complex sales cycles and enterprise-level customer opportunities.
- Strong understanding of global supply chains, transportation, and logistics solutions.
- Commercially astute with strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to influence senior stakeholders internally and externally.
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
- Comfortable operating within a global matrix organization.
- Fluent in spoken and written English. Additional languages are advantageous.
- Ability to leverage data, digital tools, and AI-driven insights to enhance sales effectiveness, customer engagement, pipeline management, and commercial decision-making.
- 5 days per week onsite presence at the advertised location
