Job Description

Role Summary

The Senior Data Engineer will design, develop, and optimise scalable data platforms and pipelines to support analytics, operational systems, and digital products. This role involves modernising legacy systems, implementing cloud-native solutions, and ensuring data quality and governance.

Have a deep understanding about data storage and compute and are able to use this knowledge to deliver complex data solutions. Have in depth knowledge about more than one technology and are able to code in multiple languages. Mentors more junior team members and takes large responsbility in the team deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

• Data Architecture & Engineering
  • Develop data models and optimise performance for large-scale datasets.
• Platform Modernisation
  • Drive migration from databases (e.g., SQL Server/Cosmos) to modern platforms like PostgreSQL, Mongo.
  • Orchestrate CI/CD Pipelines: Create and optimize continuous integration/delivery pipelines using tools like GitHub Actions.
  • · Monitor and Improve Infrastructure: Utilize Grafana and other observability tools to monitor system performance and enhance platform reliability.
• Collaboration
  • Partner with data scientists, product teams, and business stakeholders to deliver data solutions.
• Governance & Security
  • Ensure compliance with data governance, security, and privacy standards.
• Oncall Support
  • Providing 24 X 7 Oncall Support
  • Incident and Problem Management
  • DB Maintenance and Support.
  • BAU Tasks

Required Skills

• Strong experience in SQL Server (Azure SQL and AWS RDS) and cloud data platforms (Azure and AWS preferred).
• Expertise in ETL, data modelling, and pipeline orchestration.
• Homogenous and Heterogeneous migration from SQL Server.
• Proficiency in Azure SQL and Cloud Environments.
• Familiarity with CI/CD, terraform, DevOps, and data governance frameworks.

Preferred

• Experience with Stateful sets in K8’s
• Knowledge of AI Agents and workflow.
• Certifications in cloud or database technologies.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced, agile environment.
• Ability to manage multiple projects independently.
