Job Description

APM Terminals

As part of our Growth Strategy at APM Terminals, we are investing in greenfield projects to expand our existing footprint and working with our existing brownfield sites to ensure best-in-class terminals across the globe. Our ability to design and build a terminal, establish an operational organization and secure commercial business is pivotal to achieving these ambitions.

This role will be a trusted partner and connector across the portfolio of projects and will be central in improving project practices, techniques and tools, including the APM Terminals Project Management Framework. This role is about shaping and elevating the way we manage projects. You’ll lead the development of project controls, standards, and governance, act as a technical expert for global project teams, and drive LEAN-based improvements that build long-term capability across the organisation.

This is a global role based in The Hague, Netherlands, with exposure to high-value projects across APM Terminals globally.

Location: The Hague, Netherlands (Global role, with up to 25% international travel)

Key Responsibilities
• Support capital project teams in developing schedules, budgets, risk plans, and change control processes to ensure successful delivery.
• Review project execution plans and challenge assumptions to strengthen interfaces and delivery strategies.
• Implement and maintain consistent project reporting, stage-gate reviews, and documentation standards.
• Facilitate cross-functional workshops that drive alignment and clear decision-making across projects.
• Continuously improve PMO tools, templates, and methodologies, ensuring compliance with APM Terminals’ Project Management Framework.
• Coordinate resources and promote knowledge-sharing and capability building across the BIM global community.

We’re Looking For
• 10+ years’ experience in project management and project controls.
• planning, cost, risk, and change management.

• Project management qualifications such as: PMI, Prince2 or APMPM.

• Strong background in across project management and project controls disciplines, including planning, cost engineering and estimating, risk management, change management, stakeholder management and Document Management
• Experience with large capital or infrastructure projects (port or terminal experience a plus).
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills – able to connect people and drive collaboration.
• A structured, curious, and improvement-oriented mindset.
• Ability to work in multicultural environments and travel internationally (up to 25%).
