Job Description

As One Maersk, the Caribbean Sea area is looking for an outstanding team player to join as Sales Executive. The contributor will be responsible of growing portfolio, increasing both, share of wallet and market share in ocean and logistics solutions, strengthening our brand presence in the market by designing and executing commercial strategies and market mapping plans to continue to cover and discover business opportunities within current and new customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage/Grow customer portfolio and budget base; pursue and secure business in line with corporate/regional objectives within the assigned geography and/or market segment.

  • Preparation of sales calls, pipeline management through our CRM with a disciplined approach.

  • Strive for consultative sales to distinguish market presence by effectively probing/identifying needs and suggesting solutions from our portfolio of logistics products (Ocean, Landside transportation, Customs House Brokerage, Airfreight, LCL, Contract and Lead Logistics, Cold Chain management).

  • Timely filing and update of contract rates, terms, conditions in line with the predefined procedures.

  • Effectively handover of all "closed-won" business opportunities to our customer service, implementation, execution and finance teams.

  • Establish internal network to facilitate resolution of customer issues.

  • Research and understand territory, industries, trends, to analyse existing services, monitor sales, prices and services of competitors.

  • Develop local differentiators and value propositions.

  • Formulate a qualified business plan to support the target delivery.

Who we are looking for

We expect you to have leadership, that you can demonstrate with proven results, preferable within logistics/commercial organizations.

In addition to above it is expected that you have:

  • Experience Selling Logistics Services.

  • Expertise in the following product areas: Warehousing and Distribution, Supply Chain Management, LCL and Airfreight, Customs Clearance, Inland Transportation, Cold Chain Management.

  • Upper‑intermediate written and spoken English, and fluent Spanish

  • A proven track record of being an effective, natural and team player with excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Solid exposure and knowledge of Dominican Republic business, trading, logistics and transportation markets.

  • The ability to “see the whole picture” and convince, rather than force, in compliance with defined standards.

  • Independent, creative and resourceful skills.

  • A persuasive and positive attitude.

  • Excellent negotiation, sales and analytical skills.

​Low/medium travel activities are expected in the role.
