Job Summary:
The Head of Sales-South Asia is responsible for leading the organization's sales strategy, business development initiatives, and revenue growth across defined markets and sales channels. This role drives the identification, evaluation, and execution of new business opportunities while ensuring the achievement of sales targets and long-term commercial objectives.
The position provides strategic leadership to the sales organization, develops high-performing teams, and establishes robust sales processes and business development frameworks. The role requires extensive industry expertise, strong commercial acumen, and the ability to influence business strategy across functions.
Key Responsibilities:
Sales Leadership
Develop and execute the overall sales strategy to achieve revenue, profitability, and market share objectives.
Drive sales performance across all channels and ensure consistent achievement of business targets.
Establish sales forecasts, budgets, KPIs, and performance metrics.
Monitor market trends, customer needs, and competitive activities to identify growth opportunities.
Build and maintain strong relationships with key customers, partners, and strategic stakeholders.
Business Development
Identify, evaluate, negotiate, and secure new business opportunities, partnerships, and market expansion initiatives.
Develop strategies for entering new markets and increasing the organization's customer base.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop commercial offerings that meet customer requirements.
Lead strategic negotiations and commercial discussions with prospective clients and partners.
Strategic Planning
Contribute to the development of departmental and organizational business strategies.
Translate strategic objectives into actionable business plans and operational initiatives.
Drive continuous improvement of sales processes, commercial effectiveness, and customer engagement models.
People Leadership
Lead, mentor, and develop sales and business development teams to build a high-performance culture.
Manage the full employee lifecycle, including recruitment, onboarding, coaching, performance management, succession planning, and talent development.
Set clear objectives and provide regular feedback to enhance individual and team performance.
Build organizational capability and strengthen leadership succession within the function.
Stakeholder Management
Collaborate with senior leadership and cross-functional teams including Marketing, Operations, Finance, Product, and Customer Success to align commercial objectives.
Lead complex projects involving multiple stakeholders, business units, and external partners.
Represent the organization in strategic customer engagements, industry events, and executive-level meetings.
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in business administration, Marketing, Sales, or a related discipline.
Preferred Experience of 15years+ from shipping/logistics industry.
Extensive experience in Sales and Business Development leadership roles.
Demonstrated success in achieving and exceeding revenue and growth targets.
Experience managing large, geographically dispersed, or multi-functional sales teams.
Strong commercial negotiation and contract management experience.
