Job Description

Purpose of the position
Own and institutionalize one global, standardized and well‑governed Finance operating model through Maersk’s GSCs—digitally enabled via enterprise platforms, automation and AI—to deliver lean, consistent, high‑quality service, protect Group value through robust governance, risk identification and controls, and build insight to partner and advance the GSC vision and Maersk’s Integrator strategy.


Position Summary
Establish global GSC Finance operations through embedding clear work‑placement principles, platform enablement and end‑to‑end standardization/automation to deliver consistent, high‑quality service and strong governance/controllership across Ocean, Logistics & Services, and Terminals.

Act as the enterprise catalyst for Finance transformation by scaling operational finance capabilities and Centres of Excellence (process, controllership) to create trusted insights on business performance and enabling value‑based decisions

Hold end‑to‑end accountability for GSC Finance organisation globally, leading a ~4,000+ employees across India, China, Manila (Philippines), Poland, Mexico and Brazil that delivers finance operations and business‑finance support worldwide.

End‑to‑end A2R–O2C–P2P ownership: deliver accurate company financials and statutory reporting with audit support across 100+ geographies; mitigate revenue leakage and drive best‑possible DSO through upstream/downstream process reviews and performance metrics; and realize cost optimization via root‑cause analysis and strengthened internal controllership.

Serve as a strategic part of the global finance organisation —partnering with Global/Regional CFOs, GSC leadership, GPLs and Maersk Technology to set priorities, orchestrate execution and realize measurable outcomes towards business priorities.

Key responsibilities

•Lead, build, and continuously evolve the Global GSC Finance organisation across people, organisation design, processes, and systems, ensuring scalability and sustainability across all locations.•Provide end‑to‑end leadership of global finance service delivery, ensuring consistent, high‑quality and compliant outcomes across regions, while acting as a trusted business partner to Group and Regional Finance leadership.•Drive growth, margin expansion, productivity, and cash conversion through strong finance insight, performance management, and decision support.•As a member of the GSC Leadership Team, play a key role in operationalizing the GSC Vision, translating strategic intent into tangible outcomes that directly support the APMM Integrator Strategy.•Serve as trusted partner to CFO, Controllers, Regional Finance, BU Finance, and Corporate Functions.•Enable and support Finance Transformation, ensuring the foundational systems and process landscape is stabilized and a best‑in‑class finance function is embedded.•Own and govern objective work‑placement and site‑optimization principles for GSC Finance, ensuring transparent and fact‑based decision‑making with Finance Leadership and Area/Regional Finance.•Embed The Maersk Way, driving continuous improvement in execution quality, processes, and business outcomes.•End‑to‑end A2R–O2C–P2P ownership: deliver accurate company financials and statutory reporting with audit support across 100+ geographies; mitigate revenue leakage and drive best‑possible DSO through upstream/downstream process reviews and performance metrics; and realize cost optimization via root‑cause analysis and strengthened internal controllership.•Partner closely with Maersk Tech and the GPL organisation to identify and implement priority use cases aligned with the Maersk AI Vision and Finance transformation roadmap.•Lead organisation design, capability building, and succession planning, ensuring sufficient leadership depth and future‑ready finance capabilities.

Able to set a clear strategy and inspire followership.•Global Service Delivery Excellence: Capability to design, operate, and continuously improve a global finance service delivery model across regions.•Transformation Leadership: Proven track record of leading enterprise finance transformation, including operating‑model redesign, standardization, ERP/platform implementations, and transition to value‑driven finance operations.•Organizational Scale & People Leadership: Capability to lead, develop, and scale large, multi‑country finance organizations while building leadership capability, bench strength, and succession depth •Digital & Automation Enablement: Strong capability to leverage automation, data, and digital solutions to simplify processes, improve controls, and materially enhance productivity and insight.•Strategic Execution at Scale: Ability to translate enterprise strategy into executable roadmaps with measurable outcomes, balancing long‑term ambition with near‑term delivery in complex environments •Influencing Collaboratively: Open, collaborative leadership style that prioritizes enterprise outcomes, fosters strong culture, and builds trust while influencing senior stakeholders through periods of transformation and integration. •Functional finance competency: Career finance executive with strong technical depth across all areas of financial management with 20+ years in Finance leadership across shared services/GBS/global operations, with multi-region accountability (India/Asia/Europe).Professional qualification: CA/CPA/CMA or equivalent; MBA Finance preferred.
