Engineering Manager

Maersk’s supply chain platform team is on an ambitious journey to build truly world class supply chain management capabilities which provide our global client list the flexibility they seek.

The Fleet team combines the full fleet information with an aim to increase office effectiveness in
their efforts to support the frontline. We are helping our users to detect trends, identify best
practices and shift focus from the individual vessel performance to the fleet-wide energy efficiency.
We are also using high frequency (near) real-time data to move into more event driven structure to
identify areas needing immediate action. We are working closely with other teams to ensure the
shared reality between the sea and shore, paving for a more collaborative workflow.
As an Engineering Manager, you will guide your team (9 direct reports scattered across India and
Copenhagen) in delivering impactful solutions that align with our mission to reduce our carbon
footprint and drive sustainability. You will report to the Senior Engineering Manager for Star Connect
Energy team.
The team is building products deployed to the full fleet of Maersk vessels sailing around the globe.
The aim of the products is to collect, automate & validate performance data from the vessels. This
data is then modelled and turned into user insights & advice for energy decisions on-board and in
office. The end goal of our products is to drive fuel savings & reduce emission, to support Maersk's
ambitious carbon neutral targets.


In summary, you will need to:
• 4+ years of team leading or people management experience
• Experience in full software development lifecycle
• Good communication, and co-ordination skills with stakeholders
• Must have a focus on ensuring solutions built are of high quality, modular and with high
performance.
• Must have strong analytical skills and experienced in investigating and tracing root causes
for issues raised.
• Experience of managing Agile teams
• Ideally you have been a successful developer previously and have experience with C# .NET
and or Python and FrontEnd technologies such as React.
• Proven experience with applications running on Kubernetes clusters, utilizing RESTful APIs in
Microsoft Azure.
• Strong understanding of cloud-native architectures and containerized applications.
• Excellent English communication skills
• Experience in fostering inclusive and highly effective teams.
• Experience with people management is required such as driving

• Be part of the engineering management group, driving engineering culture.

• Define success for the teams, aligning their goals with organizational objectives.
• Partner with other leaders and team members to lead the process for annual and quarterly
planning and support the company strategy
Collaboration:
• Build strong relationships with peers, stakeholders, and cross-functional teams.
Operational Excellence:
• Oversee sprint planning, resource allocation, and project management.
• Address technical debt and blockers to maintain reliability and system health
