Data Engineer

Key Responsibilities:

As a Data Engineer, you will embed directly into product delivery teams, exerting direction on development and technical execution. The products we build directly impact our business, and with strong support from your fellow team members, together you will drive digital transformation at one of the largest companies in the world. You should be comfortable in working across wide range of data technologies and platforms (Hadoop, MapReduce, Spark, SQL and NoSQL, job orchestration tools, cloud tech, programming in scala and python is a strong plus), and understand the challenges in working with large and complex data ecosystems. You will be working directly with product managers, data scientists and developers to ship products, and you will need to be as excited about reaching across into adjacent domains as they are about curating and parsing the business meaning of data

Your responsibilities will be to:

  • Represent the data engineering function within the context of your product team, providing accurate technical choices and communication around our data and analytical needs
  • Provide contributions to the technological foundation upon which Maersk’s next generation of digital products will be built
  • Deliver work within a high-impact team while fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment

Who are we looking for:

  • More than 4+ years of industry data engineering experience, ideally in an analytics intensive environment.
  • You possess a bachelor’s degree in computer science (or equivalent experience).
  • You have deep experience leveraging PaaS & IaaS technologies in cloud platforms, preferably Azure. Excellent track record of delivery through data technologies (SQL, Spark) and languages like Python/Scala.
  • Extensive experience in using BI tools (Power BI/AAS) and Big data solutions on MS Azure cloud (Spark / PySpark / Spark SQL / Scala) and Data lake architecture.
  • Minimum 2+ years of working experience in MS Azure PaaS Services - Data Bricks, Data Factory, Airflow, Analysis Services, SSIS & SQL Endpoint
  • Exceptional in data analysis & data modelling.
  • Exposure to MSBI on cloud and Azure analysis services
  • Hands on experience with DevOps - building CI/CD pipelines and code deployments.
  • Hands on experience in Agile software development. Must be able to work in a collaborative fashion with scrum team.
  • Optimize Multidimensional and Tabular cubes for performance, scalability, and query efficiency
  • Collaborate with business stakeholders, analysts, and downstream consumers to understand reporting and analytics requirements
  • Fluent proficiency in both written and oral English.

Good to Have

· Having with basic data science experience in building regression models, using classification techniques and conducting driver analyses.
