Job Description

Customs Declarant: JL2

Would you like to be part of a value‑driven, commercially oriented international environment where we enable global trade every day? We have an opportunity for a Customs Declarant to join our team in Libreville.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare and submit compliant customs declarations for all cargo types.
  • Ensure accurate HS code classification based on cargo description, value, freight, and insurance.
  • Request, verify, and manage all required documents for customs clearance.
  • Coordinate and execute transit operations (import, export, road, air, and border‑crossing).
  • Maintain strong working relationships with customs authorities, terminals, vendors, and customers.
  • Design and maintain SOPs aligned with local customs regulations and internal standards.
  • Ensure timely delivery of all import/export declarations and transit movements.
  • Validate and justify all financial documentation, including disbursement invoices.
  • Ensure adherence to internal compliance controls and regulatory requirements.
  • Identify improvement opportunities and contribute to process optimization.
  • Support commercial activities and assist in developing team capability in customs and transit processes.
  • Maintain accurate records and communicate regulatory updates to staff and clients.

Who We Are Looking For

An organized, detail‑oriented, and proactive professional with:

  • Deep knowledge of customs clearance procedures and regulations.
  • Strong understanding of customs systems, tariff classifications, and compliance standards.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure while delivering high‑quality results.
  • A customer‑centric, solution‑oriented mindset.
  • Strong analytical skills and a continuous improvement approach.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively across teams.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Relevant certification or training in Customs, Logistics, Clearing & Forwarding, or related fields.
  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in customs declaration or customs compliance roles.
  • Experience dealing with customs authorities and regulatory institutions.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Outlook, Teams).
  • Fluency in French and English is an advantage.
  • Experience with vendor management or transit operations is beneficial.
