Job Description
The Business Development Manager drives sustainable growth in the customs solutions portfolio by combining commercial acumen, competitive pricing strategy, and deep market insight. As an individual contributor who leads through influence, the role enables revenue generation by identifying strategic opportunities, shaping value‑driven pricing, and partnering closely with commercial, product, procurement, and vertical teams. It strengthens stakeholder capabilities through product knowledge, analytics, and customer‑centric solution design, while supporting key clients with tailored processes and high‑quality technical guidance. Through continuous improvement, market awareness, and cross‑functional alignment, the role enhances customer experience, expands business opportunities, and reinforces the organization’s leadership in the customs solutions market.
Responsibilities
Drive business growth by identifying strategic opportunities, developing tailored solutions for key accounts, and partnering closely with commercial teams to secure new business.
Lead pricing strategy by defining competitive rate structures, managing regional pricing tools, analyzing margin and volume trends, and providing timely spot quotations.
Operate as an individual contributor with the ability to lead and influence cross‑functional teams without direct authority.
Act as a central stakeholder manager, aligning sales, product, marketing, and implementation teams to deliver cohesive customer solutions and ensure a strong go‑to‑market execution.
Support the full commercial cycle by guiding RFIs, RFQs, RFPs, and tender processes, validating contracts, and ensuring proposals meet global standards.
Serve as the primary point of contact for the broader Maersk sales organization regarding new commercial opportunities in MCS Products.
Represent the customer voice within the product organization, influence improvements, and simplify complex solutions for internal and external stakeholders.
Continuously optimize pricing processes, standardize quotation practices across regions, and provide data‑driven insights to enhance profitability and conversion.
Strengthen internal collaboration by serving as the primary point of contact for new commercial opportunities and driving awareness of product capabilities across the organization.
Requirements
3–5 years of experience in similar roles, ideally within business development or strategic growth functions.
Experience in customs operations is highly desirable and considered a strong advantage.
Academic background in International Business, Customs, Trade Compliance, or related fields.
Advanced English proficiency, with the ability to communicate effectively in multicultural environments.
Ability to stay informed about industry trends, emerging technologies, and changes in regulations that could impact customs solutions.
Proficiency in analyzing data to track performance metrics, identify areas for improvement, and support decision-making processes.
Goal-oriented mindset.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with customer and business objectives.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to convey complex technical information clearly to both internal teams and customers.
