The Role

We’re hiring an experienced Cloud / Site Reliability Engineer to help build and run a highly reliable AWS-based platform. This role focuses on creating scalable cloud infrastructure, supporting modern microservice environments, and improving developer productivity through strong automation and platform tooling.

Working as part of a platform or SRE function, you’ll partner with engineering teams to deliver reliable services, improve observability, and establish best practices around infrastructure, deployment pipelines and service connectivity. The role is hands-on and suited to someone comfortable owning cloud platforms and improving operational maturity in a fast-paced environment.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Build, operate and evolve cloud infrastructure on AWS
  • Run and optimise container platforms using Amazon ECS
  • Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
  • Manage API traffic and routing via Kong gateways
  • Maintain DNS architecture using AWS Route 53
  • Enable microservice discovery and connectivity using Cloud Map and ECS Service Connect
  • Work closely with developers to create secure, scalable platform capabilities
  • Improve CI/CD pipelines and infrastructure automation
  • Monitor and troubleshoot systems to maintain high availability and performance
  • Support security, compliance and operational best practices

What you'll bring

  • Strong practical experience with AWS cloud platforms
  • Hands-on knowledge of container orchestration with ECS
  • Proven experience writing and maintaining Terraform-based infrastructure
  • Experience managing API gateways such as Kong
  • Good understanding of DNS and Route 53
  • Experience supporting service discovery in microservice environments
  • Solid knowledge of cloud networking fundamentals
  • Familiarity with monitoring and observability tooling
  • Experience working with Git-based development and automation pipelines
  • Strong diagnostic and operational problem-solving skills

Great to have

  • Experience with CI/CD platforms such as GitHub Actions
  • Knowledge of container build optimisation and image management
  • Understanding of IAM, secrets management and cloud security controls
  • Exposure to distributed systems and high-availability architectures
  • Previous experience within SRE, Platform Engineering or DevOps teams
