The Role

Are you a dynamic product leader with a passion for innovation and collaboration? At Leighton, we’re seeking a Consultant Product Owner to drive transformative projects for our customers, enhancing customer experiences and optimising operational efficiency.

About the Role:
As a Consultant Product Owner, you’ll work directly with customers and stakeholders to define and execute product strategies, develop roadmaps, and prioritise features. Your role will be instrumental in delivering impactful solutions that align with client objectives and business goals.

You’ll lead the development of:

  • Customer-focused systems designed to improve engagement and streamline processes.
  • Operational tools and solutions that optimise workflows and provide real-time visibility.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and manage the product vision and roadmap for backend-focused solutions in retail technology, for two brand new projects.
  • Collaborate closely with key stakeholders, including our customers, developers, UX teams, and delivery leads, to capture and prioritise business requirements.
  • Act as the primary point of contact for the development team, providing clear direction on product features, user stories, and priorities.
  • Ensure the successful delivery of products by coordinating efforts across cross-functional teams, including .NET engineers, architects, and QA.
  • Translate business needs into technical requirements, with a focus on creating high-performance systems leveraging .NET, C#, Azure, and microservices.
  • Oversee the integration of new systems with SAP and other client platforms, ensuring seamless operations across the technology stack.
  • Continuously assess and incorporate customer and end-user feedback to refine product functionality and usability.
  • Work in an Agile environment, managing backlogs, sprint planning, and release timelines.
  • Ensure product features are delivered on time and within scope, while maintaining a focus on quality and business value.

Knowledge Skills & Abilities

  • Proven experience as a Senior Product Owner or Senior Product Manager in a tech-driven environment, preferably with experience in retail or point-of-sale systems.
  • Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working with cross-functional development teams.
  • Experience working with .NET/C# and familiarity with cloud platforms such as Azure.
  • Solid understanding of microservices architecture and enterprise-level integrations (experience with SAP is a plus).
  • Ability to communicate effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience managing products that incorporate AI, IoT, or machine learning technologies is a plus.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering high-quality, customer-centric products.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Flexibility to work in a hybrid model, with some office presence required in the Northeast.
