About You

As our Lead Network Engineer, you will be instrumental in driving the continuous development, management, and maintenance of our core platform. Your expertise will guide the team in network innovation, identifying and addressing architectural deficiencies, and implementing effective solutions. We rely on your experience to ensure smooth operations, project success, and team mentorship.

Key Objectives:

The successful candidate will play a key role in leading the constant development, management and maintenance of the company’s core platform, delivering products worldwide. Key responsibilities and objectives of the role include network innovation identifying architectural deficiencies implementing mitigation strategies to address them. Daily responsibilities include project work, proactive monitoring of network devices, ensuring that changes are appropriately managed and communicated, and guiding team members on best practices. Projects include data centre work, new implementations and network redesigns.

The successful candidate will have a wealth of network experience and passion for new technology and innovation, streamlining network operations and simplifying management.

  • Develop and maintain a robust, secure, and scalable infrastructure.
  • Proactively monitor network devices, firewalls, and servers. (Windows, Linux etc)
  • Manage platforms including SAN storage and hypervisors. (VMware, Kemp etc)
  • Lead projects such as data centre tasks, network redesigns, and implementations.
  • Document procedures, projects, and systems effectively.
  • Ensure clear communication and management of environmental changes.
  • Participate in critical system and network failure resolution outside of regular hours.
  • Complete technical and security tasks as scheduled.

Requirements

What We're Looking For:

You are an experienced and knowledgeable professional passionate about making a positive difference. Your ability to work under pressure and your experience in secure environments make you an ideal candidate. As a calm, approachable, and conscientious individual, you're ready to contribute to a large and diverse team.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • 5 years’ experience managing with a host of network protocols e.g. IPv6, BGP, VRRP, VLANs
  • Experience in leading, planning and executing successful IT Infrastructure projects e.g. network migrations and expansions
  • Experience in the design, development, installation and implementation of IT infrastructure solutions.
  • Experience acting as a technical lead and mentoring other team members.
  • Experience in applying security controls and patching to network devices, Firewalls, Windows, Linux and other appliances.
  • Experience working with virtualisation technologies e.g. VMware and SANs e.g. NetApp
  • Experience of working in data centres for tasks such as server implementations, network outages and project work.
  • Experience with at least the basics of scripting languages e.g. PowerShell, Python etc
  • Experience in supporting the achievement of accreditations such as ISO/CSA CCM.
  • Ability to work under pressure and deliver projects and services to target.
  • Positive and approachable attitude, ability to communicate effectively with staff across all levels.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Relevant industry-standard technical qualification(s), e.g Network+, CCNA, CCNPA, JNCIA, JNCIS
  • Experience working with Juniper, Palo Alto.
  • Experience working IPv6 would be advantageous.

Our Process

Our talent acquisition team will be in touch if you're successful, the team will arrange a short screening call (max 30 minutes) to learn more about you, and what you are looking for and answer any questions you may have. If all goes well, the team will share your profile with the hiring manager for review. Our interview process is tailored to each role but typically the first half of the process is run remotely with a final stage on-site.

For this position, you can expect a two-stage interview process:

1st stage - An informal 30-60 minute video call with the hiring team to discuss your skills and relevant experience. This is an excellent opportunity to learn more about the role and ask any questions.

2nd Stage – A 60-minute formal interview where you can expect both competency and technical questions. This can be held either in person or remotely.
