Job Description
Job Title: Network Engineering Proffesional
Location: Ipswich / London
Salary: Competitive + 5k DV Bonus + Generous Benefits
Due to the sensitive nature of this role you will be required to have DV (Developed Vetting) level Security Clearance (https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/united-kingdom-security-vetting-clearance-levels/national-security-vetting-clearance-levels). An allowance of £5k per annum will be payable monthly while you hold this DV and continue to work in a role that requires that level of security clearance. The terms of this allowance will be made available if you are successful in being recruited into this role.

What you’ll do:
- Contribute to the creation of high and low level network designs for complex IP networks, and be hands on implementing these solutions.
- Work directly with our customers to understand their requirements and use this to inform your solutions.
- Work with support teams to enable management and the ongoing support of deployed solutions.
- Provide some third line support to deployed solutions.
What you'll bring:
- Strong IP networking skills for Cisco.
- Have experience in designing, building, and providing third-line support for complex IP networks, that are secure, scalable, resilient and give high performance.
- Know how to create both high and low level designs.
- Be able to communicate complex technical concepts and solutions to a range of technical and non-technical audiences.
- Have a desire to continually update, enhance and validate own skills.
You might even:
- Know how to use and have experience with LAN switching in small- and medium-scale data centre and enterprise environments, maybe including experience with RSTP/MSTP, LAG, MC-LAG or SPB and first-hop resilience and security protocols.
- Have experience with and knowledge of enterprise and operator-scale routing design using protocols such as OSPF, IS-IS, BGP, LDP or RSVP.
- Have knowledge of network design for security, potentially including firewall, IDS and IPS experience.
- Have exposure to Software Defined Networking principles, ideally with VMware NSX.
- Have experience of automation approaches, ideally with exposure to Infrastructure-as-Code tooling such as Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Terraform. Transferable experience with Cisco DNA is also welcomed.
